going into the series if you would've told me 2 outta 3 I'd of taken it. But sweeping Pitt with our two best position players (by far) on the bench is a statment.

Question: Better 1,2,3?

Charlton, Dibble and Myers

or

Marshall, Broxton and Chapman

Personally, gotta take the nasty boys but I think it's pretty close.

I'm still taking the Nasty Boys because they brought us the series. That being said, I'm very excited that we have decided to recreate those days..... Just get to the 6th or 7th with the lead, and the bullpen will bring it home!

BTW, if I'm scoring right now...

-- I take Norm over Marhall. No contest here. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I never remember being as frustrated with Norm as I am with Marshall.

-- I take Dibble over Broxton.... When Dibble was bringing his slider, he was absolutely unhittable....

-- I take Chappy over Myers. Chapman is amazing. Besides a two week blip on the radar, the guy has turned in one of the best years I've ever witnessed from a reliever.

I also must go with the nasty boys but that could change if these guys can bring home a World Series.

1) Charlton over Marshall, though Marshall has really been lights out lately

2) Dibble over Broxton. Dibble touched 100 mph occasionally, of course Broxton did a few years back, but Dibble's slider was the difference. Came in at 92 and the bottom fell out.

3.) Chapman by a mile over Myers.

Bailey is 6-1 lifetime vs Pirates, 2.62 ERA, with two complete games, one a shutout......I like our chances to sweep.....

Doug, try to remember that good Reds karma is fueled by pessimistic thoughts!

Why do I get the sinking feeling that Phillips and Votto will return and this team will lose 8 straight. Maybe I have lived in this city for too long.

I had the same exact thought. A long, depressing losing streak can't be possible with this schedule, right? Please tell me it's not possible! I'm on the ledge here.

Saying the Pirates suck doesn't have the same karmic effect. Hits too close to home. :L

As I said, we need to get rid of Arroyo too.

Votto looked sharp in batting practice yesterday, and ran at what he called "full speed for me, about 65% for Stubbs". He supposedly went into Dusty's office today and pronounced himself ready to go. If this is true I can't imagine what the hell they're waiting on. Activate his ass already, and get him out there!

Lol at Tubbs being Tubbs.

His 'great closer addition' really came through today :burt:

maybe you care to talk more about how having a dominant closer doesn't matter?
