I laugh at people thinking Craig is going to be what he was before he got hurt.
Craig and Wacha are the wildcards for the Cardinals. Freese and M Carpenter are also wildcards for different reasons but Craig and Wacha will likely swing the series one way or the other.

Verlander was also invincible when he came in his rookie year and he choked in the WS so there is precedent for Wacha potentially getting nerves with a more noteworthy pitcher. Wacha does have that difficult release point that people talk about, though. You can't hit what you can't see.

I'll be here. I'm not some pussy cat that scurries away. On occasion you can head to the Hawks board.

This is smack talk but yes, I'm confident we win this series and am waiting for an analysis from a BoSox fan that you will win.

You definitely can't use the ALCS as corroborating support because you didn't look good at all. Fluke GS's, hitting vs a trash bullpen, poor Detroit D and baserunning and congrats, you took advantage of their play. You actually thought you played well? You had like 1 hit in the first 15 or so innings. :L

I respect you but don't fear you. STL in 6.

If Hanley and Kemp were healthy u would be on the Hawks board right now:doh:

It's based on nothing other than my Pinstriped blood.

and the we lost in a dramatic game 7 after 9/11, so I predict the same happens to you guys after the Marathon bombing.

If Miggy stayed healthy, Hammer would be on here talking about him being on roids. And Leyland would still be coaching

Grand Slam might be the least flukiest hit in baseball

victorino's slam was a homer in 6 other ballparks

not sure on ortiz

fluke?

even if that ball goes off teh wall, Sox score three and still 4-2

way I look at it, the Sox won a series they barely hit in and they have the best offense in baseball and home field advantage..........and they have a little magic this year

tougher opponent in the Cards, top to bottom........but they won three games started by Scherzer and Verlander, probably the best 1-2 punch in the bigs this year

Sox in 6

The thing with the Sox and Cards is that they are similarish. If it was Sox Dodgers, you'd see contrast in teams and if it was Cards Tigers, you'd see contrast there, too. Neither the Sox or Cards were expected to be here. Good? Sure. But they weren't favorites coming in. They are the teams that gutted things out in tough divisions. They are the teams that found a way to make a good bullpen. They are the teams with the right mix of veterans that have been there.

The only worry I have with the series is that with 2 very similar teams, the most minor of advantage could let one team sweep another.

i think home field is huge in this series, cuz Sox lose Napoli for at least two games, probably 3

Farrell already said Ortiz will play 1B in Stl but the upside is Napoli off the bench:suds:
