Texas A&M vs Ole Miss had 5.1 million viewers with a 3.2 rating

Texas vs OU 4.7 million viewers with a 3.0 rating (Admit it that has to hurt)

The Red River Rivalry is the biggest game of the year for both schools with their fan bases claiming it is one if not THE best rivalry in the country.

If you can't beat A&M and Ole Miss in the ratings then it is time to make changes. Oh and Stoops needs to take some of this heat especially after he completely got his ass whipped in both the game and the ratings.

The thing is, there are very FEW Texas fans that will argue that Mack needs to be fired. But a lot of these "reasons" are arbitrary, short sighted, and ignore the situation at hand.

But oh well......if we're lucky, Texas will lose to TCU, OSU, and maybe WVU, and seal Macks fate. Although he'll probably get canned by the new AD anyway regardless.

You are missing the point it really isn't about Mack Brown...it's about A&M beating you in ratings for the biggest game on your schedule.

Now go ahead and admit that is like taking a punch to the gut and scares the crap out of you that the momentum in your state has taken a huge swing to the maroon side.

Well, there's a problem with that.....it's not like a punch to the gut, and it doesn't scare me at all.

See, I've been watching and involved in college football for a loooong time. Aggy was KILLING us in the 80s and early 90s in both talent, ratings, and winning seasons. It happens.....but it's cyclical. Texas is always going to get their share of talent and good ratings. There's really no reason for me to be upset or "scared" as you put it.

Please stop with the hyperbole.

Cool if you're happy I'm happy but look at this:

Saturday afternoon's broadcast of No. 1 Alabama at No. 6 Texas A&M earned the highest ratings for a CBS regular season college football game in 23 years, the Network announced on Sunday.

The game earned an overnight household ratings/share of 9.0/21, up 200% from last year's SEC on CBS season opener, Alabama-Arkansas. It is the highest rating for an afternoon regular-season college football game since Miami-Notre Dame on Oct. 20, 1990.

According to the network, the ratings peaked from 7:00-7:15 p.m. ET; right as Johnny Manziel was leading the Aggies on a furious comeback in the fourth quarter.

This is to be expected. Manziel is a VERY exciting and engaging player.....add that to the drama of playing bama......I don't really see why this is supposed to be shocking or upsetting.

Texas-OU was at noon ET. A&M-Ole Miss was at 8:30pm ET. That it was even that close actually surprises me.

That was a bit of a letdown.

Hopefully Reason #956 will be better.

Sorry they pulled the plug on me plus there is a limit then it goes from funny to being an asshole and I try not to cross that line (too far over anyway).

I have a really hard time comparing games from two different time slots. A&M-Ole Miss was a primetime game wasn't it?

I sincerely doubt televisions ratings go into an AD's decision making progress. Home game attendance should be factored in. But, national television ratings? I'll pass.

11am < 7pm as far as ratings are concerned. Plus if both games were on at the same time I bet RRR would get better ratings.

... and yet somehow the Texas sport's programs have been #1 in revenue for the last 7 years.

Another failure for a turkey.
