Okay, I gotta know the story behind the Teal Swordsman screenname and avi!!

Marlins fan. A marlin is also a swordfish. Teal was the Florida Marlins most distinguished team color from before. I figured to go with the "Teal Swordsman" name to tie it all in. Then I remembered a very funny movie from the 80s, "Zorro, the Gay Blade" and figured that it was a funny avatar to go with because it was the perfect place to find a sword fighter that wore something close to the teal color. And for those that are old enough to remember that movie, it would be even more funny.

You're probably right, but certain other posters are allowed to post troll-like threads that a lot of us know as troll jobs from other websites for fun, and a way to reach out to those of us from those websites to see who migrated over to here.

It takes us awhile to figure out who is a troll and who isn't. With 1000 new people for us to meet, it takes time but it does happen. Coming out guns blazing hasn't worked out for too many folks in the past.

There's a certain amount of trolling that is tolerated on this site (can't be personal and should have the benefit of being entertaining), but you kind of have to "earn your stripes"!! When cbs shut down, there were some folks who received temp bans because they came in, as SFNL stated, "guns blazing"!! A couple ended up with permanent bans, while the rest were able to come back and remain!!

Example, I saw your "Kobe's kids" post before it was removed and when I saw how short a time you've been here, my first thought was "obvious troll thread"!! The same thread a little while later, once everyone gets to know you a little and it may have been considered funny, even by Lakers fans!!
