Mahommes practically counts as a while division by himself. Had AFC West number 1 briefly for that reason alone. But the rest of the division is too meh for the #1 ranking.

Gotta see how he looks coming back from an elbow injury at his age before I can be sure he's ahead of The Cheesecake Factory.

Carr is 16 games below .500 for his career and half of his wins needed a game winning drive late to seal the deal. I think there is a case that he is the worst starting QB right now.

Jimmy G is not better than Goff, Jimmy G was carried to the Super Bowl while playing like complete garbage at home during the playoffs. Goff was at least decent and won on the road. Not to mention Jimmy G has only had one good season and is older. Goff's best season was better too. So there is no argument for Jimmy G over Goff.

Agreed here. Goff is pretty bad under pressure (most QBs are, but he's still young) and the Rams OL sucked last year due to injuries and an aging Whitworth, but yah. I still am not a firm believer of Jimmy Garporlrorlrol. The 49ers OL is vastly superior to the Rams/Seahawks/Cardinals and Jimmy still had the highest INT % of the division. Jimmy also only has 1 full season under his belt, let's see what he does with a couple more before crowning him #2.

Player has one good year and suddenly he is better than so so, always the weakest logic.

That actually sounds pretty darn impressive
I think you are missing the point. I didn't see anyone saying Carr was that good

Is it? If half of your wins are close wins, it means that either you're carrying a trash franchise or you aren't getting enough done the other 3 Quarters.

Now, there is a good argument that the Raiders have just been completely garbage but if Carr has the Worst W/L record in the NFL then I think its fair for people to push him down the rankings

Do you expect the Niners to regress?

Yes, somewhat. But this season with all that is going on is going to be the hardest season to predict.

Jimmy G finally has a season worth of starting on film for teams to dissect.

Look at Baker Mayfield, he set the qb rookie record of td passes, he regressed last year. Players tend to do, and come back better in their third year starting or get run out of the league

I think the difference between Goff and Jimmy G is that Jimmy G isn't asked to do as much. Goff has to get 40yds more a game to put the Rams in a winning position. Led the league in pass attempts last year. A lot more responsibility is on Goff. Jimmy G has a lot of play action passes with 1 on 1s on the outside.

I don't expect Jimmy G to regress unless the Niners run offense regresses. But that doesn't mean Jimmy G is some awesome QB. He is just in an awesome situation.
