I feel the same way about 0-2 counts and throwing shit in the dirt looking for the strike out. Just a waste.

agreed. At the very least through high heat for the pitchout.

Now I do agree with that. If you want to "waste" a pitch, throw something up and in to set em up away. But bouncing crap in the dirt rarely works.
