Probably worked out the best for both clubs. Certainly did for Joey money wise and a better chance to enhance his abilities. Staying here would have strapped us and Joey likely would never see the FO invest enough to help him get what he will in NY.

Like I supposed earlier Boras and Gallo were looking for at minimum 6 or 7 years with an AAV of 30 to 35M
It was told to Evan that Boras asked for 7 or 8 and well above $150 million, so that probably gives an annual value of $25 million for 8 years or slightly more for 7 years. That is not the $30-35 million range at all.

I was hoping the Scherer deal would go right up to the deadline so all of the GMs wanting to react instead of act, would be left holding the bag.

If this ownership is not prepared to spend $180 million per year within the next 2 or 3 years we might as well give up on ever going back to the WS. About half of that would probably need to he spent on just 4 guys, with about 15 to 18 guys making close to the minimum. The rest would be split up between the other 7 or 8 guys.

I have absolutely nothing against the new guys. I hope each and every one of them does nothing but impress.

Best wishes, Joey.

I will have to pull for the Yankees to go all the way now.

Owners better start chipping in more if they want more butts in the seats. This new stadium feel is fading quickly. After yesterday there’s hardly anything to go see now but more losing and poor offense. I think our chance of a no. 1 pick looks better and better.

rumors are that the Yankees are close to a trade for Anthony Rizzo. Joey will find himself hitting 3rd behind LeMehieu & Judge and in front of Stanton & Rizzo. sorry to see him go but hitting with those guys around him i'm happy for him
