Another lower-level farmhand will go in the deal for Beltran, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News

Depends on what is going back, I've got a bad feeling I'm going to be disappointed

Honestly, there is rarely at trade I don't end up somewhat disappointed in at first. Really didn't like losing Olt when we traded for Garza and also didn't like losing Alfaro and some others in the Hamels deal but at least Hamels wasn't a rental and in hindsight, Olt really wasn't a big loss.

Not a smart move IMO. Rental 39 year old who is only of value in the DH position. Giving up a top 5 prospect in our system. Cashner made out again for a rental. Unless of course some other prospects come back from the Yanks.

There's no way to know right now if it's a bad or good trade for us. Does Beltran help put us over the top? Does he help down the stretch? Furthermore, does Dillon Tate turn out to be a bust or a great MLB pitcher?

I'm gonna withhold judgment for now and just see what happens. I do like the immediate impact to our offense, regardless.

Hopefully, I'm o.k. with dealing Gallo but not Profar

I think the Beltran move provides a bat, so that the Rangers can trade Gallo/others for Lucroy/others.

We're sending 3 players to the Yankees for a 39 year old DH rental?

WTF!?!?!?

Beltran is a good bat to add. I hate losing Tate, but you have to give to get.

Age is irrelevant bc he's still just a rental and actually hitting

Not irrelevant to me when injuries happen to old guys a lot more frequently than they do with younger guys. There is a higher risk with him that he ends up hurt and misses a significant amount of the rental time. Im glad he's a rental because we really have enough of these DH types. Giving up Tate for a rental makes little sense to me

Might have been a Top 5 at the beginning of the year....but he isn't that now. Top 10 -- sure.

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?
Very low farmhands/semi-spares from what I'm hearing. It's primarily Tate-for-Beltran.

I don't hate it, don't love it, but honestly don't really know what to think yet. Just gonna wait and see what else plays out.

I have heard one other, but I can think of several guys I wouldn't mind including. 3 guys is no big deal if the other 2 are the right guys.

It’s worth noting, too, that Beltran has been nothing less than a monster in the postseason. Over his 223 plate appearances, he owns a robust .332/.441/.674 slash with 16 home runs. And Beltran is obviously a highly respected veteran who’d add to any clubhouse, increasing his appeal to teams with designs on a deep run.

Speculation is that Gallo will likely be traded and that Beltran was added as insurance for no Gallo/injured Choo.

Edit: Beat me to it, Ephland!

Had no problem losing Olt. He was garbage, losing Eickhoff to have Harrison included in the trade was the stinger for me

I believe the price for Hamels/Diekman was Thompson, Alfaro, Williams, and Asher
