You gonna make me pull the numbers and make you look foolish? If he were still a legitimate offensive threat the team would've found a place for him in the lineup. He wasn't, and the got rid of him.

as soon as you develop a dislike for a player that's it for him no matter what the team does

The numbers say so. Quit trying to make it personal. If you want to talk baseball then fine, but bring some facts and numbers instead of whiny posts that don't actually say anything at all.

There's certainly a middle ground for both sides of the argument IMO.

sorry I forgot that when you and romeo dislike a player no one is allowed to disagree

Sorry its not just us, get over it Young is washed up and has been for a couple years now and to be fair he was never that good to begin with, too many people hold an emotional response to a player that here for so long

we got rid of him because he didn't have a position more than lack of offense
I remember him becoming an automatic to hit into double plays. He became an offense liability IMO.

The numbers don't lie. I'm sorry that you like those players. They're good guys, but they both hurt the team. Deal with it.

It started last season so he's going on a 2nd season that is not his standard. We were spoiled by his hitting for many many years and I think some of that has to do with fans turning on MY even more so quickly.

Young is gone b/c last years OPS was .674, no power, no walk and little run producing ability, and to top it off he can't play defense ANYWHERE, he's a positionless player who can't even hit all that well, we might as well sign Skip Schumaker to DH for us

Scotty doesn't see that when he develops an emotional attachment to a player.

I've always been taught a couple = 2, so thanks for making my point for me

sorry I forgot that when you and romeo dislike a player no one is allowed to disagree

Has nothing to do with 'like' or 'dislike' ... or use of the term 'hate' either. Has to do with the numbers and contribution to wins.

Lots of people 'like' players for secondary subjective reasons but unless these players contribute effectively to winning no amount of 'liking' them warrants them holding a roster spot.

Not going to say why other posters oppose a particular player being in the lineup or on the roster ... but for me it is the numbers and their potential to creating wins. Has nothing to do with 'liking' or 'disliking'.
