A's Bartolo Colon might avoid another suspension - San Jose Mercury News

Pretty much saying they have bigger fish to fry. And i suspect arod will be the serving first

I'm pretty sure a suspension is coming Cruz's way. Everyone covering the situation is reporting that, and they are saying the evidence on most of these guys are overwhelming. the only way I could possibly see Colon avoiding it is if they can prove it all goes back to his first suspension somehow

The PEDS investigation might be why Oakland has been looking at pitchers before the deadline.

The Nationals buyers/sellers this year? Man they stink. Such a disappointment after last year.

They are built for the long term and they don't have any pieces they can send off and not mess that up, any of the guys we would want aren't going anywhere

Soriano maybe, Kurt Suzuki maybe, Werth... no one is touching that contract, LaRoche & Zimmerman same thing, Ian Desmond if they have a replacement ready to go

Out of those guys the only one I'd kick the tires on is Suzuki

C- Rob Brantly (24) ML, Kyle Skipworth (23) AAA, JT Realmuto (22) AA
1B- Logan Morrison (26) ML
2B- Solano (25) ML, Derek Dietrich (24) AAA, Noah Perio (21) AA
3B- Colin Moran (20) A, Zach Cox (24) AA
SS- Adeiny Hechavarria (24) ML, Avery Romero (20) A
OF- G. Stanton (23), Christian Yelich (21), Jake Marisnick (22), Marcell Ozuna (23) all on the ML roster (Ozuna is hurt)

1B is a weakness longterm I would guess as no one stands out ML level or in the minors, but 1B are easy to find a competent player and Morrison may eventually become that, if he can stay healthy

3B is a weakness short term, but Cox is projected to make a run at the majors next year, will be interesting

Nice research. I have forgotten about Morrison.

Soriano to NYY. I sure hope JD has something going on to get the Rangers a bat or three.[/QUOTE Three would gut the farm system.

Yep. But I thought they were looking for COF bat? are they after 2?
As many as we can get, I suppose. But will probably stop at one. Most interesting in that article is the demands for Rios. Not too concerned about Young. A FA at the end of the year if we really want him back.

Don't know. Have until Wednesday at midnight. Chicago in no hurry to move him, I'm afraid. Probably could even look to trade him in the offseason. Every team is looking for leverage.

Not true. His offense was killing the team.

Part of it was that but there wasn't a place for him here anymore and I just think that was the biggest reason he isn't here anymore. The infield depth in this organization is beyond stacked and I'm not sure the organization wanted him to be a full time DH.

I'll also add that just because someone has a bad year doesn't mean they need to get rid of them. Fans here knee jerk a lot when players don't have good stretches or don't have good seasons but they happen to the best of them.

in your book

You gonna make me pull the numbers and make you look foolish? If he were still a legitimate offensive threat the team would've found a place for him in the lineup. He wasn't, and the got rid of him.
