MLB Pipeline has an article out about the top high school prospects for next year's draft. This guy intrigues me.

3. Blake Mitchell, C/RHP, Sinton HS (Texas)
Mitchell is an intriguing two-way player who is currently playing for Team USA. Scouts tend to prefer him behind the plate, where he has the chance to be an offensive force at a premium position. The plus arm that fires 95 mph fastballs from the mound works back there, too.

would not expect any positional/offensive moves this off-season which means for 2023 we will probably go with Adolis, Taveras, Thompson and White as our 4 outfielders at least when the season opens. also means that the rest of our position players would be Lowe, Semien, Seager, Jung, Garver and Huff. that gives us 2 openings which i think we might go Wendzel & either Mathias or Harris for opening the season with Garver probably being traded by the trade dealine

what did you do with Heim?

If I am the rangers then Smith is in AAA playing mainly shortstop ready to come up in case of injury
he looks good there

Also hope he works on being more of a gap hitter vs trying for HRs as it looks to me

He is pretty savvy and makes the plays. He would be competent at SS. Maybe no cannon but good range and makes the plays

No as i don't think Seager moves from SS for at least 3 or 4 years

Don't thinkso. First Smith has to learn how to hit better. Secondly Lowe would DH and then a place for Mathias would have to be found. Don't see it happening.

Not immediately but if Smith impresses me as a hitter I think he is the best defensively.
