Series Thread: Rangers Play Three Games in Washington Prior to the All Star Break July 7-9

I think that is pretty much what I said but for now Bradford is a starter. If we can get two then great but Bradford to me is an upgrade to Perez and Heaney. This is Heaney as he can have a decent game but is very inconsistent.

Heaney threw no pitches during his paternity leave and just a few during warmup. They are going to leave him in. I would think Bochy has already wrote this game off and will let him just take one for the team

On top of all those needs there are going to be some more injuries. Other than deGrom, we have been very lucky with injuries during the regular season. We missed Seagar for a month, but discovered Duran in his absence. We could make 6 trades and then if a couple of starting pitchers go down for any length of time, we will be in sad shape.

You may be right but I think we need 1 hitter and 2 or 3 of the ones we’ve got to start performing like we know they can

Okay for a little while but if we don’t trade for a real arm or 2 and another bullpen arm it will go south real quick

Disagree. Betting on deGrom almost necessitated a backup plan like Heaney. He’s better than what he’s showing tonight. Not saying he’s great, but we needed backup plans with high upside. Heaney, when he’s on, can rack up the k’s in a hurry. I’ve seen it.

If the trades cover 2024 and maybe even 2025 why not do them now instead of waiting til next year or the offseason? DeGrom isn’t going to be back before next September so we are going to need to fill 2 holes whether it’s now, the offseason or 2024
