And btw, both Don and Rev are good posters. I don't know what Romeo wannabe means, but rev is a good knowledge guy to have in here. We're all aggravated with this team and I think it's carrying over to each other. I just don't want to see this board lose quality posters over squabbles that don't mean a damn thing anyway.

Everyone goes through times where they need to take some time away from here. I get it. Take your leave and come back when you're ready. Let's try not to take our frustrations out on each other in the mean time, and try to hold off on the personal attacks, baiting comments, etc.

Just a little frustration. Not the worst we've seen by far.

Guess I have must have missed something, seems out of the blue to me?

This team sucks right now but hey Hamilton will be back in about 2 weeks

I'm not going to say it was right or wrong because that will
start a whole sidebar discussion, but losing Ryan and Hamilton
started the beginning of the end.

in a nutshell, wherever Ryan goes, his teams becomes winners.

How's the team done since Ryan left?

How has Jack Daniels been doing lately with all his moves? Injuries ok,
but you can't ride that forever. The Banister hire, ok but what was wrong with Bogar
after he proved he could win and earned a shot. Bogar knows how to work
situational matchups, banister does not. Work your closer in the 8th? That's
Little league. He's basically Wash II.

As soon as Hamilton left nobody feared this lineup anymore. It was
his presence that made all the difference. Even if he struck out 4 times On
12 pitches the night before he was a force to be reckoned with the next night
And whoever was toeing the rubber knew it.

I agree with Daniels on bringing him back, however in the big
picture I think Daniels has lost his luster.

What a piece of shit season this has been so far.

I'd say their total unraveling can be broken down into 3 main categories:

OFFENSE (Front Office's fault)
1) Didn't re-sign Cruz, replaced him with Choo for a lot more $$
2) Didn't re-sign Napoli to play 1B/DH, opted for the cheaper Moreland
3) Bet too much on Profar, injuries have derailed him so far
4) Because of #3, traded over-paid but fairly reliable Kinsler for even more over-paid and less reliable Fielder

ROTATION (Nobody's Fault)
1) Injuries, plain and simple. A rotation of Darvish-Holland-Perez-Harrison-Lewis (or even with Martinez in there for one of them) would be lights out.

BULLPEN (Front Office and Management's Fault)
1) Let Uehara walk for nothing
2) Ruined Ross, Scheppers, Ogando, and Feliz by trying to convert them into starters. What was once a dominant force became an unusable disaster area. All 4 of those guys were outstanding relievers before they were tried as starters. Then they were too injured or mentally broken to fix.

AL Notes: Hamilton, - MLB Trade Rumors

The Angels signing of Josh Hamilton has set the franchise back in ways other than financial, opines Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. During the 2012 offseason, the Angels decided to invest their payroll in Hamilton rather than make a serious bid to retain Zack Greinke. The five-year, $125MM contract forced GM Jerry DiPoto to cut corners when building his pitching staff for the 2013 sesaon and eventually he had to deal bats like Mark Trumbo and Howie Kendrick to acquire young arms (Hector Santiago, Tyler Skaggs and Andrew Heaney) over the next two offseasons. Shaikin posits the Angels’ lineup is a Mike Trout injury away from being devasted.

Geez. Some of you guys act like these players were just waiting to be signed to hometown discounts. That's just not true.

That's some interesting information. And it's good to know we're not the only one's struggling in the here and now.

Hope our young guys, along with our injured one's, come to the rescue sooner than it sounds like the Angels can expect. Good for us.

I know this is something bantered around here a lot, and some feel real strongly about how we messed up some arms by going from BP to starter, and vice-versa.

But let me ask, do we really do it any more than any other franchise? I've always thought it was somewhat of a natural move, although we've got some evidence to the contrary.

I agree with #1 and 2 under the offense section. I don't blame them for Profar at all. you simply cannot predict injuries and Profar was ranked the #1 prospect for a reason. It was time for Kinsler to go, but he did not have to be traded for Prince.

I agree about misusing pitchers, but I really think they ruined Feliz by not letting him continue to develop as a starter instead of bringing him up to make up for JD not putting together a good enough bullpen. The same might be said for Ross and Ogando. All three of those guys might have made decent to very good starters had they been able to continue their development along that line. Scheppers should have always remained a relief pitcher.

I think when they lost Hamilton, Napoli, Cruz and eventually Kinsler they should have just started a rebuilding program. They shouldn't have ever acquired Choo and Prince. They should have also been open to the idea of trading Beltre last summer when he had more value. The only way around a rebuilding program would have been to go all out in free agency 18 -20 months ago and went out and signed about 4 players, but even that would have been a gamble.

Now the plan has to be just wait this out and wait until the reinforcements get here from Round Rock, Frisco and beyond. The better JD is at trading pieces away this summer and/or this coming fall the faster we will improve.

I think the way the Rays did Price would have been great for Feliz. They brought Price up at the end of the year to work out of the pen to get his feet wet. They didn't have him come up early in the season because they were starved for a good bullpen arm.

I would have loved to have seen Ogando get a full year starting in the minors before bringing him up as a starter. He pitched great as a starter as it was. They allowed him to start without him having ever thrown over 41 innings in a single season in his professional career. That was the epitome of asking for arm problems. They made terrible organizational decisions regarding Ogando, Feliz and to an extent Ross as well.

It's nice to know there's teams out there more screwed with their payroll than we are.

Jon Daniels: Texas Rangers will not wait much longer to mix it up | | Dallas Morning News

“We are talking through different ways to improve right now,” Daniels said Sunday evening after the Rangers lost to Oakland 7-1 to fall to 8-16 for the year. “We may make some smaller changes this week, but we’re not going to wait too much longer before we consider mixing it up further. We need to see our focus and execution improve.”

The article goes on to suggest three possible shakeups including demoting Odor, benching Elvis temporarily, and changing hitting coaches.

Grant: Long-term problems suggest Rangers are headed towards historically bad season | Dallas Morning News

Combined with Houston’s 10th straight win, the Rangers are 9 1/2 games back of the rampaging Astros in the AL West after just 24 games. It is the second-earliest the Rangers have been on the precipice of a double-digit games deficit in the division. And this is where it gets historic. Do the research. The other times the Rangers have fallen this far back this early, they have been left in the dust. The previous five earliest dates to be this far back have resulted in seasons that average 95 losses. They’ve been lapped by an average of 35 games.

I cast my lone vote as a YES for all of the above.

Who do you DFA or who on the 15day DL do you send to the 60day DL to make room for field? Moreland of Fukikawa?

Fukikawa to the 60 day. Last I read on him, he's still having real problems and MM will be ready to contribute in another 14 days, give-or-take.
