Seems reasonable to think he saw this year's rebuild going no place and did not want any further delays. Obvious Ray was not happy. He said he wanted two front line pitchers and a bat added in middle of line up and he wasn't satisfied with why we had not accomplished it. May be wrong but it is what it is.

that's what I don't understand about your scenario - the rebuild is going as expected. and the 2 pitchers and the bat are the free agent targets for this winter.

I'd love Judge but he's going to probably cost close to fifty million per year. Would like to address the bullpen significantly, as well. Might have to do so through trades if FA is going to be focused on fixing the starting rotation.

BP is a high priority. Think how many games we might have won if BP had been better.

I went back to listen again to make sure I got everything right. The term he used was front end starters and not frontline. I am not sure what the difference is, if any, but I did want to clarify.

He also said he would not spend as much as last year. That tells me they are either not going after TORPs in free agency, and if they do go after TORPs, a trade will be involved for at least one of them.

Question is, are two more Jon Gray type starters considered front end guys? If that is the case they can go through free agency for both, and for a middle of the lineup bat and still not spend as much as last year.

One thing is certain, he didn't say all would be addressed through free agency and he didn't say they wouldn't all be addressed through free agency.

With all of our hitting prospects, I don't mind going all in on one free agent like Judge. Not saying, I won't be pleased with less, but if they went that route I would be fine with it.
