Series Thread: Rangers Host the Astros for Three Games September 4-6

The Rangers bullpen in the second half of the season isn't just the worst bullpen in baseball this year...its one of the worst bullpens in baseball history.

Semien and Garcia have let this team down for long periods of time this season. Besides Seager we don't have much by way of consistency. Some are worse than others.

Once Garver got healthy he has been producing.

right now, they don't have any incentives. they just want it to end

I hope we get swept by the Astros. It would be best to put this season to bed and start focusing on 24. This season is over.

I understand what your saying and we are all frustrated but I would still like to get a playoff game just to get some guys post season experience.
We will have plenty of time to focus on 24 and the atrocious bullpen.

It’s got to be mentally exhausting on them having go thru this almost every game. How many times can a team fight back from after getting leads and then losing them not once but twice or even a third time.

i think like you when it comes to Bellinger but i think the Rangers will go at least one more season with Garcia.

The Rangers aren't making the playoffs this year. We all have eyes to see that this is one of the worst teams in baseball right now.

So I sit Eovaldi. I sit Scherzer. I sit Heim. And I don't rush Jung back for any reason. And I don't care if we lose every game the rest of this season. Back dooring into the playoffs at the expense of having a healthy Eovaldi and Scherzer for 24 would be so damn stupid.

This team sucks. Let them suck. I want healthy players, especially starting pitchers, in 2024. One or two games of playoff embarrassment isn't going to help anyone.

we don't have a bullpen going into 2024 and shifting starters to it solves nothing it would be worse than this year. we need to sign the best closer available, re-sign Stratton and we need to sign at least 5 other quality relievers.

again i think they will wait on that move maybe until the trade deadline but probably more likely at the end of the 2024 season
