The dude has a .300 plus BA after 250+ AB's. Duran is hitting .347/.405/.653 with five home runs and 13 RBI against left-handed pitching this season. Every hitter goes through some kind of slump but you gotta keep the faith and can't write him off for a couple bad weeks. He has to swing his way out of it.
I’m a big fan of duran. Glad he got the big hit tonight. Teams have been throwing him nothing but sliders low and away until he gets himself out lately.

kid needs to lay off those bad pitches.

Arte Moreno has come out and said he won’t trade Ohtani to the dodgers.

he would love to raid our farm system. the whole thing makes me sick watching porter, leiter or rocker, acuna, and Duran kill us for the next 5-10 years.

if we don’t win the World Series, it would all be for nothing. We would elevate a huge division rival for 50 games and a hopeful deep playoff run of Ohtani.

Yeah, based on what it would take, I would rather pass.

When we had guys to trade over the last few years, that is why I would have loved to have traded them to the Astros. I didn't care if we helped them for 2 months as long as it would help us for years to come while weakening them for years to come.

Not knowing which Bellinger we would see I like Taveras, Duran & Jankowski

You take that chance with any player. All I'm saying is he's been there before and knows how much different the playoffs are from the regular season. How much higher the pressure is and the need/ability to blank everything out to be able to get the job done...

I think you seen what I'm talking about last night when the pressure rose on rookie Duran (tied late in game) he chased 2 bad pitches with Grossman on 2nd 0 outs. His duty in that situation was at a minimum to advance the runner which he could of done with the 2nd pitch. I'm not saying veteran Bellinger would have gotten him over but the odds of him being antsy and chasing those pitches would be a lot less and probably would have gotten a few more pitches to peruse. BTW Taveras didn't do any better in that same situation...

You also have another way of looking at this, do you want Bellinger or Miller in your dugout???

Also if you want to give Lowe a little rest Bellinger has a couple thousand innings there so you lose nothing putting him there...

It basically comes down to us, the Rays or the Giants. Seattle really doesn’t have the resources

Okay I would like Stroman and Alzolay but if we could also get Bellinger too what would it take

I would like Stroman as well. Would be a great addition to our pitching rotation.

I don't want to give up anything ridiculous for him and then have him sign with another team as a FA. Would be especially irritating if he signed back with the Angels. They would get their cake and eat it to.

Baltimore is the team I see mentioned a lot. They have the prospects and are already in the thick of things. Adding Ohtani probably makes them the team to beat in the AL.

I’ve also heard Baltimore mentioned but not as serious as the other 3. Chances are that Ohtani will have the choice and it would probably be a west coast team even though the Angels could get better packages from the Rays, us and even the Orioles which is why I don’t think the Angels will trade him

Part of my thinking on Stroman is that he knows the Cubs aren’t going to offer him a new contract before the end of the season and he will opt out of the 2024 player option of $21M. They can’t use the QO on him so they will need to trade him or get nothing. I would offer Winn, Acosta, Hernandez & Kelly for him and Alzolay. Contingent on him accepting the PO and serious negotiations on a long term deal at around 4 years $115M

He does not have a no-trade clause.

No but he could just say no. I don’t think the Angels want the negative press if they try to force a trade to another team he doesn’t want to go to. He is the unicorn

I guess he could, but why would he turn down the chance to win a championship? he's on record a couple of weeks ago saying he wants to win. and he's a rental, so he has a chance to get a ring and then go wherever he wants.

Bellinger had no home runs in May and June and batted .226 and .250 and has been reported to have a hole in his bat and changes his batting stance 5 times a season. He’s raking in July but what happens in August and September?
Hard pass.
