Sir Robin Of Camelot

You seem angry. Miserable, even.

Skenes with an interesting note: he signed for 9.2m, which breaks the existing record of 8.4m by 800k... but he also signed under slot value by about 500k.

Okay I would like Stroman and Alzolay but if we could also get Bellinger too what would it take

Stroman is having a career year and more than likely will not do the option of $21M next year and will go to free agency to cash in. So giving up very much for a rental isn't a good idea especially since he said he really wants to stay in Chicago. On top of that the Blue Jays are wanting him back so that drives up the price even more, if you can get him for 1-2 decent prospects OK if not PAAAASS...

Alzolay is kinda intriguing beings he was projected to be a middle rotation starter but has turned reliever because of injuries or just wasn't that effective in long outings :noidea: He also has quite a bit of retainability (through 2026) and recently moved into the closers role (we already have 2) that will drive up the asking price. And also is this recent success temporary or will he stay effective later on? :noidea: I imagine they will ask for at least 3 and possibly 4 prospects for him, don't know as if I would give up that much unless they can make him into an effective starter...

Bellinger should only take 1-2 prospects to nail him down because he's nothing more than a rental too. Don't think they will trade for any long term OFers that will block internal "CHEAPER" prospects from making the team in the next few years. (I'm pretty sure that's why the Rangers passed on signing him during the off season).

Truthfully I don't think the team will go all in this year since they seem to be overachieving (career years from some players) and have quite a bit of prospect talent they really want to tap into cause they're already at the $200M mark in salary right now...

OTOH they have some prospects they will need to trade or stand the chance of losing them and getting nothing in return...

Danny Duffy goes back to Frisco from the Developmental List.

I typed "lost" instead of "list" at first. I think the Developmental Lost designation would work for both Winn and Leiter. Lol

no idea how the story of Leiter is going to go, but I will always wonder if things would be different had he started at High A.
