Rangers have placed Jack Leiter on the development list at Double A Frisco. He's fine physically. The plan is to work on his mechanics with no timetable for a return.


Kid has really not been good since he was drafted......is it the coaching/devlopmnt or can the kid just not throw enough strikes? May be another bad draft pick

If a pitcher has to have a certain journeyman catcher to be effective, is he really that good of a pitcher? I mean Heim is a good catcher, an All Star. Shouldn't that be enough for even a mediocre pitcher.

Not necessarily. It is not new that a certain catcher and pitcher work well in tandem. Plus one is a veteran and good on the defensive side the other a kid still learning. 6 games at under a 1 ERA is a decent timeframe. No reason for them to have changed that until we found out differently.

I just don't want to get to the postseason at some point and have to have Leon or someone similar play amd leave Heim on the bench, just because a pitcher cannot work well with Jonah.
