I am just saying I want a pitcher who can pitch well without the security blanket in the postseason.

Besides, who knows how much longer he was going to pitch like that, even with Leon. There was a time he put together a good enough stretch last year that it was mentioned that we might all owe him an apology.

I remember when we were going to WS that we had some big time bats that helped us win some games. The postseason is about being good in both areas. I have seen us lose a lot of postseason games in the late 90s because of no offense.
Gray had a very nice career before he became a Ranger and knew Leon. It is my opinion that Leon had little to do with Gray doing well. He is a back up catcher and adequate and nothing more. Imagine Seager saying Semien is the only reason I am a good SS and can't play with anyone else.

Leon probably didn’t but it was strange how Gray’s pitching changed so much when Leon started catching for him and then reverted back when Leon left. Comfort zone?

Kinda like Semien hitting everything and suddenly stopped hitting anything. Strange things just happen.

That made no sense. Gray has never had a 6 game stretch like that. It was remarkable and you can't convince me why break something up that was working at a Cy Young level until it doesn't work. You don't stop doing it until you see otherwise.

Are they positioning Sborz for the 60 day when they need that 40 man spot?

Duran is really struggling he looked lost at the plate last night. Don’t know what they can do for or with him
I think he just needs experience and feedback. Hopefully, he will slowly get better.

I hope so too but right now you can see his struggles. The smile that was always on his face is gone. He might need to go down to AAA and work through this and come back strong

Hope not. Personally I bring in Anderson to pitch the 7th, Chapman in the 8th and Smith the 9th. Burke would be my 5th & 6th inning. king would be the “hell freezes over” call

Pitchers have figured out easy ways to strike out Jung and Duran. See both of them get in 0-2 counts and “swing at everything“ until they strike out on some crappy slider low and away.

Duran rarely sees more than 1 FB each AB and is having problems recognizing sliders and other breaking stuff. Same to a lesser degree for Jung

I think they will hang with him for a bit. Be great if he could overcome at the MLB level

Not sure what to think of the Sborz situation
Given his past I wonder if nerves were a factor in these high leverage situations but he sure seemed to have a problem with control.
To my recollection it seems to be the FB and they sat in his breaker. Maybe it was the other way around

Still his stuff is good enough to play up light years ahead of King who I have thought is a DFA candidate but Bochy seems to like him.

Hopefully he is up for garbage time which I hope we don’t need

Also wondering if Miller AB last night will be his last one as a Ranger

Don’t know if it is Bochy liking him or not seeing real other options
