Well stated sir.........I think the organization seems to feel Odor is giving a 100% effort to improve - even though many/most have little appreciate for the results - they certainly look like 'more of the same' to us.....I get completely why any/all are frustrated, feed-up and disappointed with him.

Frankly, if option #3 is for him to fail, just to let the FO skate - insert JD here - then screw that......I think all of us were surprised, if not more, JD chose to sign the deal with Odor based on such limited playing time to begin with.
I think JD skates no matter how it plays out. I want option 3 because I think it is by far the best for the organization, between the two options that are actually realistic.

Would you agree that the worst thing that could happen would be that he does well over the next 4 weeks, gets a new life, and then struggles again next year?

Absolutely............But - playing devils advocate here - what if he rights his ship and becomes the next EA......Remember, it was a just a few years ago we were lamenting the contract we had with him. Stranger things have happend.

I swear, I get your point, but if we kick this guy to the curb, and then he goes on to have 8+ years of stellar yers for someone other than us, how are we gonna feel/look?

All I want is, let the 'process' - know you hate that, ha ha ha - run its course

How long does the process need to last before it has run its course?

Tough question to answer. I think the Rangers need players to strike out less. I am ok with a couple of sluggers on the team who have a higher than average amount of strikeouts one of which will be Gallo. Who will the other be?

Re second base next season. I want the best player to start. Right now to me it is Solak. Odor looks to be still being evaluated. In this season why not let it play out.
I can not root for any Ranger to do badly and obviously I have more faith in JD to do his job

Actually, I have no problem with a process as long as those developing the process know what they are doing.

He has had no problems doing well against better teams for the most part.

Alluding to board opinion that Minor folded under trade pressure lol

I always believe it is better to take a step back if it helps you to move forward faster. Therefore, I can root against someone if I know it is for the better. I can't recall ever having to do that with a player though. I did want losses closing out the 2014 season, and I did want losses in order to get the worst manager in the world fired many years ago.

He did. It had nothing to do with thinking he was bad against high quality opponents though. There is a big difference

Those kinds of sluggers need to have very high OPS though.

My biggest problem was not the winning 2014 but not letting younger players play which would have resulted in more losses.

STill not in my wheel well to root against my home team and guys. This is one reason I quit fantasy football

I would never do it for fantasy football. I would do it if it helps us be a better team though. Bregman would have made us much better than having Tate even if both would have matched expectations. We were much better off without Foug Rader. We will be better off if we go into the offseason knowing as an organization that Odor should be a bench player at best.

I have also wanted the Cowboys to lose for a better draft pick a time or two.

So what is that difference?
He felt the pressure in July with the rumors swirling. He doesn't now and he didn't before then. It has nothing to do with opponents. No one has ever claimed he doesn't do well against good opponents. I remember thinking you were confused about that when it came up before. I tried to explain it then.

If I had the answer for this, I'd be GM.

But I'm all for having as many players competing for all positions and let the chips fall where they fall.

Just think pressure is pressure any way you slice it. A bit presumptuous IMO

We all must disagree as to when the chips have landed then. The Odor chip landed for me by the AS break if bot before.

Do y'all think the best idea is to sign Minor for a contract extension? If so, how much, how many years? Or, do we trade him in the off-season?

There is no pressure now though and there wasn't before the Deadline rumors. Why is that such a hard concept? The regular season has very little pressure outside of a pennant race for veterans. Pennant races, the postseason, trade deadlines, and for some, contract years, is when the pressure is on.

Now a rookie facing the Yankees would probably feel pressure.
