We all must disagree as to when the chips have landed then. The Odor chip landed for me by the AS break if bot before.

The FO spit-the-bit when they didn't send him down when they still had the opportunity IMO......Now the paint is set and the circumstances and consequences are totally different.

Do y'all think the best idea is to sign Minor for a contract extension? If so, how much, how many years? Or, do we trade him in the off-season?
I do not trust this team to sign either unproven guys or older guys to extensions or long term contracts. The Odor effect means those guys have guaranteed jobs despite failure. It is just too risky under present management. They don't believe in the concept if sunk costs and budgeting for a bad contract or two. Bad contracts cripple the organization for now.

No extension for Minor. He is beyond the wrong side of 30.

They sure did. That is one of the reasons I don't trust their ability to come up with a process.

It didn't land for me until we had someone like Solak come along and be a legitimate young replacement for Odor. At least he is for now. Things can change.

Re Minor

Let's extend him 2 more years and sign a 3B. Will the FO spend? That remains to be seen. If they are not going to do any spending then maybe it is best to trade him.

1B,2B, 3B and CF are not current areas of strength. Relief pitching looks good though and SP will be much improved

If the whole season was about development did it really matter?

Broadcast team needs to do their homework. Choo started off hot last year and then faded the 2nd half where he hit .217 and .178 the last month and a half. It was not that hard to remember. I kept wondering if he would do the same thing this year and he has.

If they make Solak the starting 2B and keep Joey in CF then those are positions if strength.

Abreu and Rendon would shore up the CIF spots.

I was a little surprised he didn't start off this year like he ended last year.

I'm getting the MLB feed for today's game and I have no idea of who the announcers are, but one of them has MLB experience and the network did a short on the career of Mike Minor......And this nitwit says, 'he's had an up and down career but look at him now....pause....He's one of the best pitchers on the Rangers.'

This MF is being paid above average wages to come up with this?.....Oh I do get it; there isn't but a couple of teams on the plant besides the Yankees. All the rest of em all just fodder for our collective statistics.

He needed to be shocked into reality. That is the development he needed. It mattered greatly and they blew it.

It was all about development and that us why Choo being in the lineup this year over Calhoun was a terrible decision. More reason not to trust their ptocesses.

Wonder if Yanks having second thoughts about not trading for Minor....Trevino handles the pitchers pretty well to me. Framing looks good too

I missed Wastin's post. But that's some good stats/info on Choo and 1st half/2nd splits.....Thanks

He does seem to get on base a lot, even now, without getting hits though.

You can't trade for a player who isn't really available.

Not sure of Gallo in CF. Might like Santana better due to body type. But both preferred to DDJ.

I tried to remind folks during the offseason that both Odor and Choo finished 2018 very poorly.

Maybe Joey there 80 games or a little more and Santana or Heineman there the rest, mostly Santana.
