Wittiest headline: Eloy fought the wall and the .....
I was chuckling at the broadcast the other day - Steve Stone was mentioning that La Russa makes it easy for them - La Russa says don't worry about winning games - just worry about winning ABs and the pitchers should just worry about winning individual pitches - the rest will take care of itself.cannot believe they finished over .500 this spring.

Have to agree with iddy in that the way the Sox started off in ST, it looked like they were destined for the worst record in the Cactus League. Somehow they started putting it all together. But I'm still an alumni to the school of thought that I basically don't give a rat's ass about won/loss records when they have no bearing on the regular season.I was chuckling at the broadcast the other day - Steve Stone was mentioning that La Russa makes it easy for them - La Russa says don't worry about winning games - just worry about winning ABs and the pitchers should just worry about winning individual pitches - the rest will take care of itself.

Yes, agreed. I was merely opining that a ST record means jack squat to me, but I do place a great deal of importance on the health & welfare of the team overall and specific performances, especially with those who may be on the bubble to making the roster. Eloy's injury is huge and IMO may have a sizeable bearing on our team's chances to place themselves in a postseason position.Unfortunately this ST had a HUGE impact on our regular season cuz homeslice decided to grind the outfield wall....
We lost ST period by a mile. Highly doubtful any other team had a worse ST because of that stupid injury.

So in the opener - the White Sox line up for the intros - with Jose Abreu holding a framed Eloy jersey with Eloy's batting gloves in his hands lifted to high to Eloy's honor. Did Eloy die, or did he have a pec muscle surgery?
Do Engel and Fry feel left out? What about the Angels - they actually did have teammates die recently?
always trying to be positive ...Speaking of random thoughts, as happy as I was to see Vaughn looking pretty solid out in left last night, his bat is confirming that he might be ill prepared for the bigs at this juncture. He's worse than even Robert was last year when it comes to flailing at breaking pitches. If he doesn't start connecting soon, he won't make it out of April wearing a Sox uni.
I believe Mickey Mantle was 0-23 - One year for the Sox Richie Allen had a horrible season start and ended up MVP.always trying to be positive ...... i like to remember the start robin ventura got off to in the majors ... 0 for 41 was it?

I'm more concerned about Moncada's lack of production - personally.
He did better on Covid. This guy gets it. No more excuses this year for Yoan. Time to start showing us that in your prime production.
