I liked how I started off my draft but I didn't realize how many rookies I ended up with on my bench. I do like Flowers and Addison though. I got to my last pick and realized I didn't have a backup QB. I wanted Goff but I got sniped. Still pleased overall though. It will depend on if my RB's stay healthy.

without looking at the schedules, if Fields BYE week is after Murray's return, you'll likely be fine there. My biggest worry is what happens with Taylor. IF they don't get him traded, I sure wouldn't be surprised to see him pull a Leveon Bell and sit out. The Colts are going nowhere with or without him, so they have no incentive to pay him, and he has no incentive to absorb another 250+ touches for relative peanuts before he can go elsewhere. Jav. Williams knee also scares the helloutta me. He'd have to have Adrian Peterson blood transfusions to be ready at this point of the season, that was one catastrophic knee injury. Word out of Denver is that he's still awfully hesitant and doesn't appear to be ready. But that's the beat guys and they have extremely limited access under Sean Peyton this year, so there may be plenty that the coaches know that isn't out there for them to see. And don't sleep on Jaleel Mcluaghlin, not Perine, if you want a handcuff

Yeah my team starts and ends with my RB's. Wasn't crazy about drafting Taylor in any of my leagues but I thought it was a good spot. Never been a big fan of Javonte...so it does scare the shit out of me. Seems like a boom or bust team.

He really impressed me his rookie year, sharing time with MGIII..better than I thought he'd be coming out, no doubts. And then again as as sophomore, looked pretty good, but man..terrible injury, no idea what he'll be when he comes back. I would say he was a top 10-12 back in the league, IMHO, before the injury..Lord only knows what he'll be now.

So I'm sure that most of you in this thread already know this, but I thought it was crazy when I heard the stat that the Jets haven't had a 4000 yard passer since Joe Namath in 1967. That is until I found out the Bears have never had one. Sorry Joe.
Heard the following today and remembered this post. Actually don't know if there might be multiple answers... :noidea:

In the last 5 years, this QB has never passed for 4000 yards. Yet he has won MVP.

Lamar Jackson

ouch on Taylor's value... no trade and remain on PUP... so he is out for first 4 games... that is 5 of the 14 or 15 regular season weeks... which is 1/3 or more of the season...

and that is a disgruntled player too... things can and probably will linger throughout the season... now he is an easy avoid.... apologies to anyone who drafted him already.... your season has just become an uphill battle!!!

Drop la porta grab hubbard or some other backup and hope the first guy gets hurt week 1. You are shaky at RB. Taylor is big risk.

Metcalf scored less than Lockett last year. Hope a rookie comes through. The worst part of having a WR bench of all rookies is you'll cut the wrong guy week 5.

Right. Why do I need a backup TE

I am high on Laporta... but yea.. when you invest in a top TE, a backup is just redundant, and a waste of bench space....
LaPorta, and all rookie TE's, are generally not a great pick for redrafts. Great pick in keepers/dynasties, but chances are he's far too inconsistent to justify a roster space most of this season.

Neither?

Higbee I guess. Kelley Moore's offense gave good to seasons to an aged Witten, and a WAY overachieving Schultz. I dunno if Herbert will throw to his TE much though, and Higbee is an annual cock tease.

Schultz just isn't that great, and now he's in a shit show team..at least a shit show for the moment

Strongly disagree. I don’t care about history. There is enough evidence that things are changing. Believing that rookie TEs, are just going to continue being bad is very naive.

And we had a few rookie TEs in the past few years being fantasy relevant. And this is believed to be the the best TE class in a long time. And we have 5 legitimate TEs starting for their teams. My bet is at least one of them becomes fantasy relevant this year.

Strongly disagree all you want, but if you mention evidence, provide some. Not even Kyle Pitts was what I'd consider to be fantasy relevant, who are these quite a few you speak of?

And no, before you start, some dude who ripped of 5 scores in a 4 game stretch ain't exactly evidence, it's an aberration

then I guess we would need to start by defining fantasy relevant... But the point is with football becoming so pass heavy... and with TEs being separated between being a blocking and being a receiving focus... and with 5 New Rookie Starting TEs... believing at least one of them will be a TE1 is not far fetched at all... now guessing which one is another story... but I think it is a safe bet that at least one will be a TE1...

My bet would be on Laporta...

How often are rookie TEs tabbed to be the starter in pre-season?

I agree with Milk, but not because of TEs. Because of WRs. Rookies WR have suddenly become startable in FF. I think there's less fear about starting a rookie TE, especially if he's not expected to block much.

LaPorta is my only TE in BATG. I'm not that scared because I know I can find a guy on the wire who's within shouting distance of all but the top few TEs if he doesn't work out. And if he does - and I think the Lions are perfect for it - well, yay.
