@TREFF - I see your all time favorite guy is back again. :nono: ..... Giants have re-signed veteran running back Alfred Morris.
Oh yes, already been discussed.

I do get it..he was there last year, knows the coaches, knows the system...but...he's still a mega sloth that they couldn't get more than 6 touches a game out of even though they were without Barkley all year, and there's probably a dozen dudes out there that would be better, especially with Booker already on the roster and Barkley due back soon

Did a random sample of rookie QB, particularly those who did well in their first season.

Wanted to see how they did the following season.

I think all but 3 had better numbers. The vast majority did not do better. Wonder where Herbert will fall in that discussion?

Per NBC Edge:

Ekeler... has never averaged more than 11.6 carries per game.

Not a good stat. Currently going as the 8th RB taken in round 1.

Yeah but that's not because of his rushing stats, it's because he had 92 receptions in 2019 and 54 in only 9 1/2 games last year so he was on the same pace again last year. Now of course he missed 6 games with injury though. In half point PPR he had 189 receiving fantasy points in 2019. Now he probably won't have 8 touchdowns again like he did that year, but those receiving numbers alone would make him a top 10 pick. He finished 6th overall that year and last year on a fantasy points per game basis, he was 10th if you remove the game he got hurt. It all depends on how you look at it, because to me his rushing stats could only go up and his receiving should stay the same now that Joe Lombardi is there from New Orleans who is moving from Alvin Kamara to Austin Ekeler in the passing game.

Biggest issue with those guys, and anyone else like them..the McKissics of the world, Cohen...etc...is that when they are more involved in the run game, they generally end up missing games. It's counterintuitive, but you almost don't want them getting more rushing attempts

agree, and the passing down specialists seem to hang around the league a few years longer than their rushing-heavy counterparts, and that's not by coincidence.

I actually view it as more of a "I get to start a WR2 that also gets carries in one of my RB slots" vs "I get to start a RB that also gets receptions in one of my RB slots"

The receiving work provides a more stable floor for production, if they are truly a part of the team's game plan, like Kamara and Ekeler, and not just a 3rd down/hurry up option. They are more outliers than the norm, which is why they are being drafted in the 1st round. I ain't scared of taking either this season.

Am i the only one who actually thinks the lions offense is going to be good this season?? not sure if they are top half... just because this is now an offensive league...

Last season they average 23.56 points per game... I expect them to improve that this season...

Watched as much as I could tolerate of the ESPN fantasy show…. They operate in a different stratosphere of what constitutes a “boom” or a “bust”, for instance…

Daniel Jones as a “bust”? Way to go out on a limb there, fellas!

McLaurin as a “breakout candidate”? I mean how much more does a player have to do before we can officially proclaim they have “broken out”?

I know damned good and well I'm going to regret asking this..likely for years...but just what in the hell gives you reason to believe they improve on that?
They've downgraded at QB first and foremost..Stafford to Goff is not a recipe for improvement.
But they went out and one upped that by trading in Golladay and Marvin Jones for Perriman and Ty Williams.., agian, not a recipe for improvement by any stretch of the imagination.
Heck they don't even have Sanu and Amendola any longer.

In fact, the ONLY improvement they have made is dependent on Penei Sewell being everything he's hyped to be.

Where does that equate to improvement?

If ADP is any indication... doesnt look as promising through non-milkian eyes.
Or the haze of a smoking monkey.

Once you got into the hobby, after a couple years, or if you just go gung ho and dive in deep right away, either way..you quickly realize that "fantasy advice" from big nationwide outlets is targeted specifically at the newbs or the casual players. Definitely not the type of stuff someone into it enough to go on to message boards and discuss would be at all intrigued by.
