A friend told me today that the defense losing Talib is like the offense losing Goff.

Other than the offense still has Gurley, Cook, and Woods? that's a big difference!

I think losing Gurley would be bigger blow than losing Goff

But Gurley also makes the passing game better, just because they have to worry about his running and receiving, which also makes our wide receivers better.

True, but we don't know what Kelly can really do, he looked great in the preseason.

Also true, but I doubt he's Gurley, Gurley is a once in a every few years kind of back!

Kelly could be a real weapon in the passing game. Gurley is very involved, but mostly on screens and such. I think Kelly can be even more, but obviously in reserve behind Gurley (and Brown?).

THis is why AD is worth all the money he held-out for over the last two seasons. McVay says AD is better this year than last. Unlike so many that get the megabucks and then fade, AD has raised his game even higher and is almost a lock to win the Defensive Player of the Year this year again. Back-to-back!!

Can we a agree Barron cannot tackle very well? Saw a couple blatant misses yesterday and if you replace him with someone bigger/stronger up the middle I think it’s a big upgrade.

He may be good covering TEs and can hit, but he’s not good stopping the run

... yeaaaaah he needs to be replaced... definitely not a good fit for the defense. For this defense to work we need a stud mlb.... somewhere around 250lb and a tackler.

The defense improves every game...by the playoffs they should be on fire. 19 sacks for AD? did I hear that right?

Fowler had five tackles three for a loss and a sack, and a quarterback hit against the Lions. Major addition to the team.

And he is a good guy, very humble, he said he is just so happy and that its an honor for his teammates to believe in him.

Not sure. We haven’t seen Mannion with these weapons and Oline under McVay.

If we face a very run heavy team, that could possibly spell trouble since we have had a hard time stopping just about anyone that wants to run on us.

The defense is beginning to really play well. In the last three games, the Rams D have 10 takeaways and against the Bears we had three picks. People are tackling way-better and Marcus Peters has shut his mouth and is consistently shutting down his receiver and he certainly isn't giving-up those big chunks of yardage he did earlier.
