This is what I hate though. He was having a solid year to start and was Darnold's main guy. After 4 weeks, he was on pace for 84/1,112. Then he got hurt and really never was the same, mainly because it seems like he never fully healed. Paying $9mil for a 26 year old WR with that potential isn't outrageous.Antonio Brown should immediately sit oputand demand $36M a year for 4 years and $100M guaranteed.
Edelman should demand $25M a year and $75M guaranteed.
That kind of payday for that level of talent will really screw up free agency in 2019.
This is kinda where I am leaning too. I don't know for sure because I really don't see the Jets play but this looks like they see something good and are locking him up hoping he meets his potential. Darnold had some injury problems too so it's difficult to just look at numbers. He is a deep threat and with the young QB, they have something to build around. I honestly like this type of sign better than some of the F/A ones I've seen out there. I do agree that it looks good for Amari Cooper though. This is what I hate though. He's 6'2", 225, so he's built like a horse. I may be wrong, but I think his injury was a hand injury, which really just needs time to heal. I think he comes back next year and could very well have a really solid year. Robby Anderson, Enunwa, and Chris Herndon could form a pretty solid group of pass-catchers for Darnold, not to mention Elijah McGuire who cost me a damn fantasy championship by balling out. The Jets could be in good shape if they get the OL to where it needs to be.This is kinda where I am leaning too.
