He’s not. And that’s my point. Stidham is below average specifically as a backup. Because he isn’t a starter level talent. Case Keenum is a decent backup QB. Teddy Bridgewater is a decent backup QB. Stidham and Rypien should both be in the XFL.

Not well. But as I noted, both Rypien and Stidham belong in the XFL. Neither are NFL level QBs.

Sometimes I think Mega just does this stuff for the fun of it. Can't tell if he is serious or joking. A guy like Trevor Siemien, who has starting experience and has won a few games as a starter, there is always going to be room for these types of QB's. Is Trevor a good starter? HELL NO! But there is always going to be a place for him in the NFL because of his experience starting games. Stidham has some starting experience and showed he can win in the NFL. You aren't going to win a SB with him but every person has learned by now it is hard enough to find a good starting QB let alone a good backup QB with experience. Stidham belongs in the NFL. There is no doubt about that, that really isn't even an argument we need to waste time on. Is he a starting NFL QB? No, probably not but he is a good guy to have behind your starter as he has experience has had some good games in the NFL and is prepared if needed. Let's not get silly here. This one is really quite easy to understand.

Let's not make this feel like one of those free for all facebook discussions where people come in and say crazy senseless things.

Stidham is exactly where he should be when it comes to QB play of a backup caliber guy. There are really only about 15 guys in the world that can play the QB at a high level. Maybe 17-18 if you include guys in college right now that I think would probably be starting for some of these NFL teams. The next about 30 guys all kind of fit close together of could win a few games but you would rather them be backups that you rely on for a game or two and try to work around their weaknesses. Then you got another 15 guys that shouldn't be on a roster but teams need at least 64-96 QB's available just in case of injuries.
