Now, let me just say this.....if Bo Pelini ends up winning a conference Championship or something and then takes off for an NFL Coordinator position, I blame this ALL on Tom Osborne! Yes, that's right! Tom Osborne made a HORRIBLE hire if that ends up happening.

This is Nebraska.......not Miami.....not USC.......not Notre Dame..................

We do not do short-term pick-me-ups..........we can't afford to.......because we are not cool enough to just go and grab a new coach every 5-8 years who can be successful.

Tom Osborne is at fault for everything if this happens!!!!

All I want is a coach who is giving us an opportunity every single year.......

As fucked up as this season has seemed, we have an opportunity........and that opportunity could open WAY up this weekend with one good game.

What I don't want is a coach with a big name and a track record who is coming here to prove something to some NFL squad...........and that is why, if this is what Pelini is attempting to do (hard for me to believe), I am going to be FUCKING pissed.

I will kick Pelini's ass as he walks out the door and tell him to stay the fuck away from Nebraska forever if he pulls that stunt. Being a legacy in Nebraska Football is far greater than any NFL coordinator position!!!

And you're still making millions!!! Why could anyone want more money than that?!!! You can't even spend that much money!!!

Bo never spoke with Miami, Penn State, or Arkansas. But his agent talked to all of them..so when Bo says 'I haven't been contacted by those schools' - he actually hasn't because he lets his agent do all the talking and getting particulars to see if its the right fit. Bo is a master of playing with words and this is no different. He will listen to any offer that comes in and consider them.

But get ready for a new coach because Bo's agent has been told to get a feel from interested schools (from a very credible source). Apparently Bo's been butt hurt from the media and fans one too many times. No matter what he says he despises both. He fits in better with the SEC attitude, culture, and fan base.

IMO; If Nebraska wins out; he gets Arkansas. If they limp out the rest of the schedule he goes Auburn.

And I agree with Jed that this is Osbornes fault. They havent been the same since Marvin left. His moral clauses against Carl and Marvin killed the coaching staff...funny how it didn't matter with Solich.

Also, Bo is not the only coach that does the whole, "I haven't talked with any other school" stuff while his agent does all the talking. Every coach does that. I do know that Bo and his agent were the ones that gauged the initial interest to one school. That is what I mean by "actively seeking a new job".

Yes, Bo will be gone soon. Just this year you have Arkansas, Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky opening up in the SEC.

I had one of my tl;dr essays and deleted it.

In 5 years I don't see Pelini here because Pelini isn't happy. No hard feelings against him. He has the right to live his life as he sees fit and if Nebraska isn't in it I hold nothing against him.

Osborne couldn't have foreseen that Pelini would not restore the defense (and that is why he was hired, not necessarily to coach here for 25 years). He had a great resume, what no one stopped to consider is he had never done this with his own recruits. So he not only was unproven as a HC, he was unproven completely.

Will stop there so I don't get tl;dr again.

Marvin is completely on Osborne's shoulders and yes that was a big blow to the program.
Carl, I don't know the details of his leaving but I thought for quite a while he was on his way out. Pelini wants a puppet at DC and it was clear from their constant arguing that Carl wanted to do it his way. Don't know how much of a hit our program took from that anyway. Look at last week. Our d was greatly improved. If Pelini takes his focus off the offense and on to the defense they improve. He just hasn't done that because he doesn't trust his offensive coaches. I guess he probably doesn't trust any of his coaches and likely for good reason. mnsho only.

Do you say that because you think he left on his own accord or that his actions required being forced to leave?

No one really knows what happened but I think Osborne had situational morality. What was done was not NCAA violation, it appears to not have been spearheaded by boosters and there was no black eye to the program.

IMO it could have been dealt with a lot less harshly.
