There are very few TE's in the league that make a truly big time positive impact. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to find someone as it would help, but to me the bigger priority for the offense is finding a good/great RB. Making teams have to fear the running game as much as the passing game would take this offense to a whole new level. Look at the Bills this season. Josh Allen is great, but he is having maybe the best year of his career in part because defenses have to worry about the run game destroying them just as much as Allen taking over.
Bowers is getting a lot of the accolades this year but what 2nd year TE trey mcbride did in ARI is equally impressive.

we can find a TE this year

Guess what? Almost every qb beefs up their stats vs weaker teams and has worse stats vs better teams. Illuminating I know! There is a reason that great QBs often have below par Super Bowls when they are playing teams that get there with excellent defenses.

Do you think Brady benefitted from playing Bills, Jets and Fins during a period when they had weak teams twice in a season?

Bo is a rookie. And if anyone is disappointed in what he has done so far, then that person had totally unrealistic expectations.

Yeah thanks. Made that point in the post. Thaaaaanks.....nevertheless he needs to work on consistency.

Disagree? Can't tell.

I'm not saying we need a super star WR. I think you find guys that can fit certain roles and make teams have to defend the entire field. Vele showed some of what I want to see of that middle of the field/intermediate area, but he was very up and down this season. Heck his TD against the Chiefs was in part because he ran the wrong route and just happened to be in the right spot. So maybe he could become that guy with an offseason to really dig into the playbook and become that trusted #2 or #3 depending on how you look at Mims.

Mostly for me the best way to improve this offense is get yourself a consistent run game. The OL for the most part is decent at run blocking and should be better with another season together and a RB that could actually see the right hole to run through. Getting yourself in more 3rd and short situations to keep the offense going is what was missing from this team. I would make taking a RB in FA and one with a top-2 round pick a priority.
I’d like Denver to follow GB development
GB upgraded the RB position through FA
and drafted the skilled positions in multiple rounds. also continues to add a defensive FA

Det did the same thing but might be hard to replicate them. absolutely crushed a couple drafts.

I think Denver needs a Jamison Williams

^^^ Mims can be as good as Williams although slightly different with his ability to do a lot around the line of scrimmage. I think Mims is that speed #2 to Sutton's size #1. What this offense needs is a very good back and upgraded TE production to really take off. I am sure they will add another WR as well, but with Franklin set for more development there is some talent there already its just young and also inconsistent. That will improve though just as Mims has this year.

MLB is the defenses weakness, even with Singleton, so trying to upgrade that position in both the draft and free agency will be important.

Add Vele in as a possession receiver and we’re not bad - but not elite. I’m guessing we add another WR, but I also think TE and RB are higher priorities.

I want us to bring in a FA RB for sure. Someone we can trust. Problem is the RB market isn't quite what it was last offseason. We are a year late. Top guy is probably Aaron Jones who went from Green Bay to Minnesota. He is a good RB but I wouldn't call him great. Najee Harris falls in a similar boat of you will get pretty consistent play from him but I wouldn't expect a huge jump in production.

Personally because this draft is so RB deep I would sign a decent name for FA but then also draft one high. Payton is one that believes a RB can change the game and has shown that by taking RB's high in the draft multiple times.

Yes. My draft insiders tell me this may be the best RB draft ever. Both quality and quantity.

Would you draft Jenty in the first?

If he falls to where we are then yes. I would run to the podium! If he falls around 15 and say we are pick 21 (hoping not as that would mean we lost this Sunday) then I wouldn't mind a little trade up where it only costs us a 3rd round pick. Anymore than that and I am waiting because this draft class is so good. I don't want to sacrifice a lot when there are so many guys I like in this draft. Jeanty is at the top of that list, but I don't think the gap is as big as some make it out to be.

Cam Skattebo?

I wish he had a bit more explosive ability to his game. But then again if he did then he would be going 1st round. Great RB and some of the best contact balance of this draft. 3rd round or later and I would definitely take a shot.

As of right now I would take Jeanty or Omarion Hampton in the 1st round and feel good about it. Especially if we are late in round 1 and Hampton is sitting there I think he would be such a great fit in this offense. I've then got a lot of guys I love in the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the draft as well that I think could be instant impact RB's for us.

Jeanty got stuffed when facing a good college defense. I think he's overrated, and if he were there with our second pick I might take him. There's really no rb I'd take in rd one for Denver.

I guess I'm not going to let one bad game destroy what I saw in all the other games. And not like he didn't play other great defenses. He had games against UNLV and Oregon that were top-25 ranked teams and both had good defenses. He had 192 against Oregon at 7.7 yards per carry and 3 TD's, and then 209 yards against UNLV the second time they played them on 6.5 yards per carry.

I will give you that a lot of his stats were piled up against inferior opponents but to see watching how much he did after contact because his OL wasn't great in my opinion is why I think he can do some special things at the next level.

I just can't help seeing Ron Dayne when I watch him.

He's got a bit more juice than Dayne and I think the best part of his game is the contact balance. It seems like he bounces off and keeps his feet underneath him.

Like I said I really do like him but not enough to go crazy in a trade up just to make sure I get him. I like Omarion Hampton almost as much. He has that extra explosiveness I really like in a RB.
