Potential Morrow to PIT Trade - Confirmed - Read Thread for Details

I'm not sure that Brenden Morrow has much left in the tank. Still a good player but I'm not sure I'd give up Joe for him.

D prospects is a huge area of strength for the Pen though.

My initial reaction pretty much when I heard Joe's name. That said, I trust Shero to handle this well. I would hope for Pouliot instead though...Joe is close.

That said: Morrow could complement the Geno/Neal line perfectly...he'd be the Kunitz of that line.

I tend to think there'd be more to it than Morrow for Morrow. I could see Joe being in the deal, but there'd have to be something else. *whispers Jagr* Muahahah

I like Bennet too much to move him out of the top six. But Morrow would look good opposite Cooke on Sutter's line, I think, and that would push TK out of the lineup or to our anemic fourth line.

See, I see Morrow as a pretty good guy doing the dirty work. That's what Kunitz did for the Geno line last year, and it's what Morrow can provide. Bennett has done really well with the third line. But...it's not like Bylsma lives by his lines.

Also: Morrow is a leader, vet experience. I hope he's more of a Guerin type pick up. People weren't sold on getting Billy G either, but he made a huge impact in the room and worked hard for the top line.

DAL F Brenden Morrow is currently discussing with his agent the Stars' request to waive his NTC to be moved to PIT.

I'll laugh if he doesn't do it.

Also: can Jagr be thrown in? Seriously...I just want him to come back, win a Cup with the Pens, so we can retire that jersey rightfully and gallop into the sunset.

I guess the move makes sense from that perspective. I just don't think a Morrow-for-Morrow swap is fair from the Penguins' perspective.

I only say this because I think Bennett has done REALLY well with Sutter/Jeffrey. I think he will be that winger, but I see him getting a lot of good stuff from playing on the third line. A little less pressure, still have a great play maker at center, and learning to be gritty with Cooke. That said: Morrow could add a lot to the third line too.

Spoke w/ Brendan Morrow via text and he told me he still hasn't waived his no trade to go to Penguins. Still discussing it over with Family

I only say this because I think Bennett has done REALLY well with Sutter/Jeffrey. I think he will be that winger, but I see him getting a lot of good stuff from playing on the third line. I would consider keeping Vitale in over Jeffrey. I like DJ's game, but he's not really fourth line material.

B. Morrow is near the end but if he has enough to get them over one last time I am happy with it.

As much as we all love Bennett it seems Shero doesn't have that same enthusiasm. Boy he has something against giving top 6 forwards a chance (ie..Tangradi and Boychuk this year).
