It's a good trade. I like the 3rd coming back in return. Joe Morrow was coming along nicely in WB/S. But to get a guy like Brenden Morrow for the home stretch and playoff run, yeah, I'll take it.

Meh, not sure. I hate giving up Morrow, but I'm also not going to sit here and pretend I can see the future. Obviously Shero knows what the room is missing and what prospects he needs to hold onto better than me.

Morrow may be closer than Maata and Pouliot, but I know the organization say they see those two as better NHLers.

Seriously though: this is a win a Cup or bust type deal.

That will be a decent third round pick, I think. And Morrow gives us a lot of depth up front. We'll be a tougher team to defend now.

Tanner Glass will give up #10. What i would like more is if Tanner Glass gave up hockey altogether...

I like the deal, shame to see J. Morrow go but getting the third back could be used for depth d or to help the 4th line.

Does Boston respond and make a move for Iggy? Hope that rat bastard Jacobs makes a desperate overpayment now. :plotting:

Don Maloney is in Pittsburgh for the second time this week. HELLO MR. YANDLE! HOW ARE YOU?! But really...that'd be too good. (And he's too expensive knowing the deals coming up for the Pens).

PLOT TWIST

Andrew Dintino ‏@ADintino_TOU
Paul Holmgren and Don Maloney (GM of Phoenix) having a conversation in the Consol Energy Center press box. #Flyers

Don Maloney GM for Phx at Pens Flyers game ..have a feeling there could be a Phx Flyers deal in the future.

Yeah, I saw that. The Flyers have been named in every dman rumor out there. Yandle would be a decent option for them, but he's got a fairly big cap hit ($4.5ish?) for another 3 years. The Flyers have to move some money. Obviously there's the Pronger money, and their potential buyouts, but still need to move some.

Yeah I dont really know what deal there is to even be made. I'd love Yandle, but we arent breaking up the Schenns, and Couturier just seems untouchable.

Yeah, Yandle won't come cheaply on a few fronts. Maybe they want Bryz back ;) *remembers that they have Smith* Oh, right. Nevermind. All the rumors about this deal say it's not "firesale prices" and that they want a good return, NHL talent and picks. Of course, the Flyers don't really have a ton of moveable prospects, do they? Cousins? They'd have to move Coots I'd imagine.
