Ben will help that more because he will force Williams to get rid of the football when pressure comes. We would have a back or tight end trying to pick up the blitz while the 3 receivers in the game were running 20-30 yard routes Ben uses that back or tight end to become an option as soon as the pressure comes. Our problem is williams, like fields, just does not get rid of the ball. When he does with in 2.5 seconds, his numbers soar. You do that for 10 plays in a row, it backs off the pressure and opens up the deeper routes. That was never part of the Waldron offense.the better the protection, more yards williams throws for under ben johnson.he was the most sacked qb in 2024 was,nt he?
Pretty sure its time to hear about the cash door prizes. Sweat, Jaylon, Edmunds and Edwards should all be restructuring their deals pretty soon. Its dangerous because they just keep pushing those dollars down the line when Caleb is going to want 70 million, since that should be the number in 3 years. Here's an updated cap space report from BearsWire:

Bears' updated 2025 salary cap space after first wave of free agency
The Bears made a slew of moves during the first week of free agency. Here's an updated look at their 2025 salary cap.bearswire.usatoday.com
Chicago had roughly $80 million in salary cap space before those moves. Now, they're sitting with $16.11 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap. But that doesn't include the cap hits of tight end Durham Smythe or wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, as we're still waiting on contract details.
And if I'm not mistaken, it doesn't yet account for any remaining in-house contracts, if any, still needing to be addressed, nor does it include the rookie signings. So in essence, we're pretty much down to zero. There will still be team cuts and likely some restructurings here and there. But unlike the past few years where we seemed to be swimming in excess cap space, those good times have come to an end. Personally, I thought it was more than worth it. I think our team is much stronger than the '24 squad, in particular the OL. We still lack depth, but much of that can be filled with signing other team cuts, the draft, and finding that occasional UDFA gem.
i don,t see a hail mary bringing on a 10 game losing streak in chicago this year.eberflus was an iidot, johnson ain,t.Ben will help that more because he will force Williams to get rid of the football when pressure comes. Living in “Commanders’ land” here… Zaccheus is your quintessential 3/4 WR… As long as we didn’t spend too much, he’s a good role playing addition. A 30 catch 300-400 yard guy.I don't know how good he actually is,cause I think Jayden actually put him on the map.....I never heard of him before until last season,so I don't really know what to expect out of him....
If he is our no.3,then we didn't keep Keenan.....and I think he is worth another year here.

From what I've read/seen/heard, there's more than enough money to cover the draft picks and any leftover vets from the roster that still need to be paid. My guess is that $90k you got is after the fact.About the same as it was as a Falcon......
Im just wondering whats to become of Keenan....??
Im hearing without(without googling it),we have 90k left in the cap....??
How do you pay for draft picks....??.... Keenan if we were to keep him.....??
