Excerpt

A week after wilting late, the Redskins thrived down the stretch. They ran the Rams into the ground, finishing with 182 yards on 37 carries. By the end, St. Louis was so frustrated that linebacker Alec Ogletree and defensive end Robert Quinn blatantly grabbed Alfred Morris’s face mask twice on one play.

The Redskins responded by continuing to run. The Rams couldn’t stop them.

“For a lineman, there’s nothing more satisfying,” left tackle Trent Williamssaid.

After two games, Washington has an early-season identity. It has averaged 171.5 rushing yards and 4.6 yards per carry. And the defense has been responsible for only 10 points in both games. On Sunday, seven of those points came after Jones fumbled and gave St. Louis a short field.

Those are two basic characteristics of winning football teams. And this team may be capable of sustaining a high level in those areas.

Expect to see atleast one deep shot out of this look Thursday. Load it up, put PG out on the opposite side and run the sharp post

We win a game and Jason Cole of Bleacher Report writes an article about how Kirk and Griffin can't be in the same room with each other. laughable and pathetic. Smdh.

Personally I think you have to give Jay Gruden credit as well. Things change, people do too.

Reality is, there are people hoping Jay goes back to abandoning the run, Cousins continues to be a turn over machine, and RG3 once again becomes the top story in DC.

Because if our run games continues to thrive, Kirk stays out of trouble, and the drama stays out of the building....

Lets just say this season could be fun

I think this team has the fingerprints of GMSM and Bill Callahan all over it. We didn't have an identity the past few years and now we have one. Even without elite talent, it's clear that they want to come out and play smashmouth football.

That last drive reminded me of the games I watched as a teenager in the 80's. Line it up and run it right at you and you can't stop it. That was old school Skins right there.

I think that you are correct about the naysayers. However - at least in terms of people who identify themselves as Redskins fans - that number is likely a lot smaller than you believe. Call me naive, but I believe that most true Redskins fans just want a successful team & are not really concerned about the name on the jersey of the starting QB.

Let the mediots do whatever they like since it is obvious that a lot of them are more interested in off field drama then in actually covering the game of football & what transpires on the field. I can only speak for myself and those close to me when I say that we just want to see this team do as well as possible while building a team that hopefully will be a major force in the not too distant future.

Welcome to the mad house. :D

And yes, this team is mildly reminding me of the 80's Skins. We knew week in and week out we could run on any one. Right now the east is still wide open even with Dallas holding a one game lead on us. We need to stay healthy and handle our biz and we will be the team that all the Pundits are saying they never saw it coming. IM not calling Super Bowl mind you, but if we stay healthy and can continue with the formula we have, we will be a team to contend with week in and week out.

Socal... I will say it like this. The same guys I saw in week one who were calling for Griffin to start, and were singing the same tune at 8:00 AM yesterday (yes we tailgate early in the Shark tank) were the same guys who I saw after the game singing the praises of Kirk. Winning fixes alot of discontent. IF we handle biz this Thursday, I think we will see a different tone in Skins nation by Monday. :)

Love this about Bill Callahan...

When Callahan was getting started in coaching at Illinois in the early 1980s, he visited the Redskins' training camp in Carlisle, Pa., and watched line coach Joe Bugel work with the ''Hogs'', the group that was pivotal in Washington's three Super Bowl victories from 1982-91.

So when Callahan took over the job that Bugel held from 1981-89 and from 2004-09, he immediately hung a photo on his office wall of the Hogs smacking around the rival Cowboys.

''I've always admired what Joe Bugel has done,'' Callahan said. ''We're trying to carry on that tradition and trying to live up to the standards that they've established.''

Bill Callahan brings passion to Redskins

What's up, Rasta!

Where the hell is duck at?

He just moved from Northern Virginia to Alabama for work so he may just be swamped with that. Not sure. Good to see some old friends on here.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys.
