Losing djax early hurt. Very pleasantly surprised by OL for the most part handling a good Miami front. The playcalling helped protect Cousins, but it hurt the chance to put more points on the board. That drive in the 2nd where it went from red zone to them punting out of the endzone was just a comedy of errors.

You could tell that punt return was gonna be big, Landry caught it and no one was on the screen near him.

Not going for the 4th and 1...I'm ok with it I guess since I figured Gruden would have brought in the heavy formation and just ran it into a wall of bodies for no gain anyway.

Won't pin the loss on Cousins, but at the end of the day, the results are the same. 2 more turnovers and another loss as a starter.

Yeah you could see them look at each other and you knew that Reed ran the pattern wrong. Saw it happen last night a couple of times in the Philly - Atlanta game. Too often the receiver takes the path of least resistance.

Those 2 people will attribute it all to Callahan I'm sure. And no doubt, Callahan has done an excellent job coaching our guys up. But the conservative game plan by Gruden was responsible for keeping Cousins clean as well.

I mean yea, a lot of it probably was a combo of Callahan and possibly Scherrf just being ya know good. You could also say the conservative play calling helped hold us back from scoring more than 10 points.

to me the play calling isnt an issue but execution was . the holding penalties erased a few 1st downs and 2 13 yd plus runs by morris which could have led to points . at the end of the game reed runsa wrong route and the pass is picked off . if he ran the right one we still have a punchers chance to tie the game

I agree. We were moving the ball and controlling the clock. Until the 3rd qtr penalty garage hit. Sure, there were a play or two that I might like to have back, but overall the strategy was point on.
