That was a great play by the db, but a dumb pass too. He wasn't open, ever on that play.

Depends on what you mean. If you throw it short...the player is open. Essentially a back shoulder throw is never open. If it was, you would throw it to the front shoulder unless you are trying to protect your WR>

He's a Blogger/analyst (and big admirer of Scot) which has led to him delving into the Skins roster. Granted, I'm not sure of his full credentials. I've liked the breakdowns and perspectives I've seen from him and am hoping he more fully explains his thoughts on what he saw in Cousins' performance.

Looked like a corner or flag type route. You never throw those short. But I could be mistaken on the route. Someone in the media who does this stuff for a living said something similar. Can't remember where I saw it

again the coverage was garbage as it has been for years
No argument.

Haven't seen many STs film breakdowns tho

Think Bullock makes some good point regarding Kyshoen tho. It would have been nice to see Him not give up at the end there. Really makes one wonder about tenacity and competetiveness. What is Kotwika doing and teaching... How much of this is coaching and/or the players themselves?

Definitely possible. Not saying it was all on him either. Just would've liked to have seen that extra effort.

Gotcha

So reading his breakdown of INT No. 1 I agree but would put a little more blame on Cousins. Reed should have stopped to give his QB someone to outlet to. BUT Cousins is responsible for reading the DBs and he has to know when he is rolling they are pursuing inside out. What looked like it was wide open to me on TV and I guess to Cousins was covered because Reed took the route downfield bringing the DB back into play and Cousins did not read the pursuit.

INT No. 2 I don't fault anyone. Cousins knew he was throwing a 50-50 ball (jump ball) back shoulder fades are throw all the time. His throw was a touch off in direction, Garcon did a poor job of fighting for the ball, the Miami DB did a great job. I think it was 3 and 13 and late in the game. Field goal didn't wasn't going to help much. Little bit of blame for QB and WR and hell of a play by Miami DB.

he missed 2 open wrs on the first int but he is young . we will have to live with that sometimes

the second int he tried to give his guy a chance to make a play and the DB made a better one late in the game when we need points

@Sportster 72

Here's his blame assessment on the interception.

Yeah that is an accurate assessment. Dolphins quarters coverage was pretty good. The play should have been to the safety valve but Cousins held the ball while he continued to scramble. Reed continued downfield and the DB (Grimes) read that and jumped it. Kirk has to take the check down in that case. Reed needs to sit and the DB made a good play. I also agree with dad, these plays will happen from time to time. It is part of the growing process which as I have said before that was start 10 for Kirk. Not a full years worth of starts or equal to rookie status. We all know Kirk isn't a rookie because he should have learned a lot as a backup but nothing substitutes time on the field.
