Makes them undraftable, in my opinion. If you'll quit on your college team, you'll quit on your pro team.

Why keep playing up until this point if you are not going to see it through? I get that they are protecting millions but I couldn't stand to not play for my team one last time.
I wouldn't either, but it's one exhibition game a month out. Now, they can sign with an agent, train to prepare for the draft an extra month, and get some extra cash.

Also give the bowl committees the heads up that your team isn't as good as their record says

Should have to give up all of their benefits at their school to do that: housing, training table, per diem, etc. Might not be such a good deal then. Don't mind if they do it, but they should have to give up their team status to do so.

Just from the time they decide to take money from an agent and sit out the Bowl Game for the draft.
They probably do that already

I do think you should have to pay your scholarship back. It’s only fair.

I don't think you know how many great players have skipped their game and have gone on to great/good NFL careers.

My suspicion is many of these guys have stopped going to class and would probably be ineligible anyway.

Doesnt really bother me although i dont get why you play the whole regular season then. Just play til your team cant win the natty or your conference and then quit. Seems stupid to play a 12 game regular season to go 6-6 and then decide the extra game is too risky.

Most NFL GM's disagree.

I don't like it but I get it. It's not like a kid is shutting it down 4 games in to protect their draft status. If it's a playoff or NYD game no thats something big and at 21 you need to experience that. The who gives a crap bowl though-the first contract pays for the swag you will get 100 times over and despite what the fans want long term it's probably better that your backup gets 1st team reps.

As a fan I want the best players to play. Being real it pisses me off a little if it's my team but in general I get it.

I know there has been a few players sit out but I believe you are overstating the number. I honestly cannot think of one.
