Sounds like the only important game is game 2. They could sit everyone tonight and beta the Grizzlies or Spurs and get in anyway. Interesting but it seem convoluted. I'm glad the Warriors won't be one and done though
Mistaken as usual, but thanks for stopping by

I was right on. It doesn't matter what the Warriors do in game one as long as they win game two

Wrong as usual. Seeding is different for example. Less injury risk. Etc. But again, your confusion is very on the nose for you

Nope. Win or lose in game one it doesn't matter. They win game 2 and they are in. The only difference is they'd be 8 instead of 7 and they ain't beating the one or the two seed in a series so it doesn't matter if they are 7.

Dude.

The winner of 7/8 doesn’t play again. They are in.

The loser of 9/10 doesn’t play again either. They are out.

Loser of 7/8 plays winner of 9/10 for the 8 seed. Higher seed has home court in each game.

Huge advantage to being 7/8.

As much as I don't like additional g more teams to the p!ayoffs , the system they came up with is great.

I don't know if it is great in terms of fairness but entertainment value is great.

I would prefer it being between 8-10 in years that the 8th isn't within 3 or 4 games of the 7

Too complicated. And fairness be damned those 7 or 8 seeds are never contenders (except in unusual circumstance like this year). I love it just as it is. And that's with my team getting screwed out of just being the 8 seed under the old way.

Exactly. the game is meaningless. You could lose by a hundred and still win game 2 and you are in the playoffs. 7th or 8th seed in the playoffs doesn't matter. You are still playing a far superior team who has home court over you.

You are an idiot. In the 7-8 game, if you win, you are in. In the 9-10 game, if you lose you are out. The loser of the 7-8 game gets one more chance to make it by playing against the winner of the 9-10 game. This isnt rocket science. It makes every single game matter. How can you not get this?

That isn’t meaningless man.

You lose and put yourself in a 1 game elimination setting.

That is like saying game 6 of a playoff series is meaningless to the team that is up 3-2.

And in most cases, most seasons, the 7 isn’t going to be far superior to the 8.

The fact that some of you are burning good energy explaining this format to this cat is kinda funny in itself...
