I'd go back to cap Hell for another ring or two..and in truth, the way this team drafts now, I don't worry about that as much. Dallas used to be a laughing stock in the draft. Now they are the best on the NFL
Part of drafting well is letting guys go when they are due for a pay day and replacing them with cheaper draft picks. Look at Collins. If the plan works he is gone.

IMO, the NFL salary cap is just a crutch for the owners. Jerry Jones is literally printing money. He could push contracts out for 15 years before cap Hell. I'll probably be dead by then so fuck it, let's go for it now
:wash:

Mike Brown loves the Salary Cap. Especially the low end of it.

I wonder if we go 5 or 6 WRs?
I know there is a lot of talk about them, but If we only go 5, none of the UFDAs may make it as I see this as the top 5:
Cooper
Gallup
Cobb
Austin - still think he can contribute and make the team. Also punt returns
N Brown - best/only blocker in the group
C Wilson - team loved him last year before his injury and read the other day how he seems to know Offense well and always knows "what to do"

#6 maybe to whichever UFDA returns kicks?

I think Austin may not make it with Pollard on the team. I also think they go deep at WR because of the talent level.

Yup, that seems to be the consensus assumption with the writers, but I think it is premature. I guess the preseason games will give us us look at the young guys. They were mostly poor in the scrimmage. Outrunning CBs in 7 on 7 with no pass rush is different than playing live Football. Hopefully a couple of them can impress. Austin to me is the exact kind of guy we need if Moore is going to get creative. Plus he is our best PR

Well we got an abundance of WR's

No doubt I think we have some players on our roster the Ravens might like to have and I don't like what I have heard of Maher or much of what I saw out of him last season. He can make a longer FG but he's too inconsistent between 30-40 IMO

Why trade? He's a kicker. You just pick him up when he is cut :noidea:

The beauty of kickers is you can pick them up at any time. No scheme to learn, no time to assimilate needed, just walk in the door and kick. There are plenty out there. I just hope if Maher struggles we don't wait too long.

Lots of teams in need of a good kicker and there aren't a ton of options out there. This kid is supposed. to be really good but won't supplant Tucker whose been the best in the history of the NFL.

If you have the chance to possibly trade a fringe guy that may not make our roster but would upgrade the Ravens, then I got no problem doing it to upgrade our kicker position for several years.

There was an article earlier today talking about other teams, possibly the Bears trading for him

Rumors are he'll be traded not cut. Dallas is going to cut some nice talent at WR why not get something for a player you plan on cutting anyway?

Only if someone is willing.

I don't think they know which WRs they are keeping and cutting right now and won't know for a few weeks. There are kickers out there. All they need to do is decide they want one of them and they could sign them tomorrow. If it were me I'd sign Matt Bryant.

Matt Bryant doesn't kick off so you'll need a 2nd kicker.

It may be an option but I'm not sure he can't kickoff even though he hasn't done it in recent years. Atlanta happens to have had a punter that also was a kickoff specialist. He was 4 for 5 over 50 yards last year including a 57 yarder. The year before he was 8 for 9 over 50 including a 56 and 57 yarder. I suspect he could kickoff if need be.

44 years old. Coming off of an injury. Doesn't kick off.

I'll pass.

Cowboys need to address the kicking situation. I don't trust Maher much and Cowboys need to upgrade. Why not try to sign Bryant?

I agree. Sign Bryant now. Maher is going to lose a key game for us. I just get that feeling. Bryant is accurate from all ranges.
