I like your beard.
The internet is hard sometimes.
I mentioned after the loss the other night: wonder how the Ducks fan base is feeling. They blew a 2 goal lead, and a 2 game series lead, to what is the "worst team" in the postseason points wise. Yet the national media is ignoring it. The Ducks were, at one point, a dominant team in the league this year. Yes, Getzlaf was out for game 4, but man...East Coast bias strikes big. The cynicism is forced from the media at every level, and it just makes it hard to cheer for a team with such an awful fan base. Basically you're told you're an idiot for having any sense of optimism.
Holster your weapon.

Yes, I hate the national media. Especially the collection of jackasses from NBC that broadcast the games. The hate this team gets is only exasperated by their comments/opinions.
Your point about the Ducks/Stars series is a pretty good one, too. Not a peep is being made about that in the nat'l media, yet it is very likely the biggest potential upset there is going so far in these playoffs.
How does this thread have FOUR TIMES as many posts as any of the other ones?
Is there a Columbus/Pittsburgh rivalry of which I was until now unaware?
I wouldn't call it "hate" persay (unless we're talking about Milbury...he hates the Pens), but cynical (there's plenty of Pens lovers on those broadcast crews too). Then, when the Pens do indeed fail, they puff out their chests righteously. Which is also what the local media does. They drum up a story about how the team is primed to fail, waiting impatiently for the other shoe to drop, and then flaunt their correctness about valiantly.

Edit: Well, four times the other ones minus Wings/Bruins, but that one I get!

It's simple, really.
Go look at reax post game 2 and game 4 and see who the majority of posters are. I'll make it easy for you, 75% of them aren't Pens or CBJ fans.
That and the fact that we can (mostly) have some good rational discussions about the way each game is going. Those threads have gone on for a while.
I suppose there would be less posts if we just called each other poopyheads and stopped trying to talk like grown ups.
poopy heads
The most shocking thing is that the Sharks-Kings thread has more posts than the Flyers-Rangers thread. Where's this East Coast Bias I keep hearing about?
