This girl eventually committed suicide from all of this
No I don't believe she did. She tried on a couple occasions but failed. She has however gone through countless hours of therapy and still does to this day. Too bad she didn't just learn to deal with it like rave said. Oh how her life would be roses and butterflies right now.

For this asshole's sake, he'd better never reveal his real name or there will surely be hell to pay.

Agreed...for right now I'll call it mental abuse b/c Idk Incognito had any physical intimidation going on.

The point I'm making is Martin really handled this in a mature fashion even though it might appear to be soft...weaker minds are more likely to take the easy way out and take people out...rather than deal with it.[/QUOTE]

Most in this situation where they have been a part of a culture of violence such as football would choose violence as their first response to something like this so kudos to Martin for taking the high road. He is a smart guy. Punching RI would most likely cause somebody like him to escalate even more beyond what he already has. So it really wouldn't solve the problem at hand and actually could add more.

I think I confused two different stories into one. There was one in Ohio with a few male athletes that turned crazy then one in Missouri that involved the grandson of a political figure of the state. The fact that this is happening all over the country is getting pretty scary in my opinion. How kids could ever find this crap to be ok is beyond me.

Columbine was a perfect storm of bullying and immature fantasy fueled revenge. Couple by parents that were asleep at the switch. But I get your point and agree sometimes the bullied have some mental issues.

In this case we are talking about a really smart dude that lacked the edge to confront the problem. And for every kid that takes their own life due to this issue their are probably hundreds that suffer in silence.

Maybe Martin didn't have the fortitude to be an NFL player but he didn't deserve what RI was dishing out. I truly believe and teach my kids to be the bigger person and stand up for those that can't or won't.

Actually I was responding to the pussification comment...while victims of bullying take on this timid, weak persona, you never know what the tipping point (to violence) is but I think innately we all have a tipping point. A person with a few screws loose to start with might resort to violence quicker.

I applaud Martin for seeking professional help, rather than handle it like a man so to speak. Ultimately...that might've saved some lives.

You know it's bad when signing Bryant McKinnie improves the character of your OL.

The only ones that are taking up for him are the perverted weirdos that also want to defecate in another person's mouth.

WTF kinda gay-ass crap is that???

we have to teach kids that there is nothing wrong with being themselves and not to let other opinions bother them. This is how you stand up to bullying.

Exactly...I'm thinking they are equating this to grade school stuff, but it's pretty serious shit.

True story...married couple with 2 kids, small town. Over a period of years word started leaking out about the wife having an affair...of course this gets back to the husband...apparently all was resolved. A year or two later apparently rumors started again, and some friends of the husband were drinking, and started razzing the guy about it.

A couple of weeks later this guy stabbed his wife 20+ times, and shot himself in the head murder-suicide...he planned this out because he waited all week until a Friday...sent his sent to his kids to his mom's because they wouldn't have school the next day.

I can't say I knew him well, but I knew him well enough that I was floored...he just didn't seem like that type to kill anyone...he cracked.

so it's all the bullies fault, that he snapped and killed his wife?

If you noted...I didn't apply blame anywhere...I can't say him being razzed drove him to kill, but I can't say it didn't...the point I'm making his...this guy cracked...he didn't want to deal with the shame or whatever he dealt with the 1st time so he handled it.

From afar, I knew this guy, was at a wedding with him, other functions...he didn't seem like a violent type. That's why I can applaud Martin for going this route.

Also to note...these were co-workers (friends) of his...I don't really think this was a bullying situation...at least not intently...as I understand it, kind of a joke because the rumored "other" guy was back intown.

i don't know being a tattle tail doesn't usually work in your favor. sure you MAY get the bully to stop but people are going to lose trust in you or it could make more people bully you as well. I still believe the best way to stop bullying is to stand up to the bully.

I cant believe that this has 300 posts when Ahmad Brooks pistol whipping and pouring beer on a teammate barely made headlines.

Edit: Sorry, he JUST broke a bottle over his head and put a gun in his face.

i think that people who get offended or hurt by bullies are people that are not happy with themselves, and that's why bullying hits them harder.

In you example i think the guy wasn't happy with himself. I bet he blamed himself for her cheating on him and there were some deeper issue that he had with himself that nobody saw, but IDK for sure.
