shut up baby, i know it
i understand why they wanted hamels, but what a huge mistake. they aren't going anywhere this year, he's turning 32 in a few months and he has mediocre career numbers against the AL. i've already been called "stupid" for pointing out he has a lot of mileage and has been injury free, so that doesn't bear well for the future. he has a 5.93 era after 2 starts and has already been scratched with a groin issue. it would not surprise me at all if he spends the next couple years on/off the DL with an era around 4.40 or so. but then again, what do i know.
williams has a .310 avg/.366 obp/.876 ops on the year with 16 homers and 11 steals. and this is his "low ceiling." he's by far one of the phils best offensive prospects in years.
thompson is 2-0 with a 1.29 era after 2 starts. asher is 1-0 with a 2.77 era after 2. eickhoff is 2-0 with a 0.64 era after 2. and of course, alfaro will be back next year. 5 players, all young and under control, for one aging pitcher who could blow at any minute.
i don't count diekman, because he's a piece of shit. the rangers had a 2-0 lead heading into the 8th tonight and he gave up 2 runs after walking the leadoff man (a .242 hitter batting 9th.) shocker. really should have been 3 runs and the loss. sano just missed a bomb by inches and it wound up being a double.
i caught this article on the rangers forum. they didn't agree with it at all and thought it was way too negative.. but i actually thought it was pretty spot on..
