Asche hits the runner because Rupp is out of position and this is beginning to look like the Keystone cops. Mets score another one. Asche gets the error.

Rupp puts the ball in play and everyone is safe.

The Phillies lost but I won. I did not get to see the game. I was spared 3 hours of misery!

How can you give up on your man, Ruf? lol. He even started. You did miss an exciting leadoff triple by Odubel and later, a double. Herrera, Asche, and Rupp went 8 for 12. You can't beat that!

Rupp and Asche had a bit of a screw-up with trying to get a Met out at homeplate. Rupp was in the wrong position and Asche had no angle so he hit the player. It didn't look very good and the result was an error and a run. Hitting-wise, Asche, Rupp, and Herrera were stout. If they would just start Ruf and be done with it...

I saw that retro. There's bound to be more defensive bungling as the team gets their act together as playing time for the younger crew increases.
