The Phillies will not give a 10 year contract to anyone. Contracts like that never work out. Machado can not be trusted with
his type of thinking when he becomes a multi-millionaire. Harper is a .250 hitter. Harpers best asset is that he gets on base. Getting Kluber can add at least 4 wins per year!

I thought Harper and Hoskins were seen hamming it up before one of the games. Maybe he’d rather play in LA since I think he’s from there. The FO will have to be smart and aggressive to get the most sought after player.

I have a hunch it could be the heavy metric system the Phillies use. Having a computer telling when you could
swing might be a deterrent. Just a hunch.

I said from the beginning that a quality FA would not want to play for a knucklehead like Kapler. IMO, Kapler is a player killer.

It is a factor. A system that tries to draw walks, but instead lowers batting averages and causes more strikeouts.

Rumors say Machado is signing with the Yankees after the 1st of new year. Harper probably will sign elsewhere too.
I call it the Flex factor. They probably do not like his management style. But who does?

Yep, sooner or later, the elite FAs discover the level the Phillies FO is effed-up and they quickly lose any desire to play for this so-called franchise.

I am getting so tired of this year-in and year-out whenever there is afresh crop of elite FAs that we continually eff-up signing because of a host of reasons that always lead the player going somewhere else. Then we are left with the "scraps" and this year is no exception. Here is the list of "scraps" left-over for us to sign if we so choose. What a dog and pony show this franchise is!!

Trying to back up his words Middleton has offered Harper a guaranteed 10 year contract. Machado is out based on reading between the lines. Middleton is going to ruin the Phillies for years just so he can look good and put asses in the seats for a few years.

Phillies will meet with Harper next week in Vegas. The usual formalities for potential buyers. Hopeful but not optimistic. Phillies may not be as aggressive as Dodgers and Yanks who are never afraid to pay up even though their payrolls are already over the top. How the fuck do they do it?

They are huge market teams with high revenues. They do not mind paying the luxury tax.

If you were young and about to become a billionaire, would you be thinking in your mind about having a palatial mansion out on the Philly main line or one in the fair weathered Hollywood Hills, or a lux pad overlooking Central Park or maybe on Lonk Island with easy access to the best restaurants and night clubs in the world?

After a game, I’d like to hop in my Bentley and tool around LA before heading to my 40 room palace with my hot babes. Just sayin’. But who knows. Maybe neither guy is a party animal.
