We knew Eflin was out for the season, but just heard that he'll be out 6-8 months for patella tendonitis surgery on his right knee soon. He did have double knee surgery years ago. Bad news.

Phils need to stop screwing around and win today's game. Two out of three ain't bad. I'll take it. Only 24 games to go.
I'm beginning to think we're looking for rubies in a mountain of rocks. Unfortunately I doubt there's a Coupe De Ville hiding at the bottom of a cracker jack box

If nothing else the guys who are supposed to come up big have been huge down the stretch. Harper and McCutchen in particular. A little magic from someone like Didi or Vierling or Freddy G would help a lot.

One small consolation is that the Bitches and the Mutts also lost. So, the glimmer of hope to win the division or WC remains but ultimately as jvett mentioned, the Dildoes will get there asses handed to them if and when they play either LA or SF.

This is the most public yet, of their many humiliations

And Atlanta continues to pull away. The Dildoes are right on schedule to tank the rest of the season and go home early with their paychecks as usual.

This seems like an important game to win

Earlier today: "Hey I got an idea. I know the bullpen blows but what about if we tried a whole game of bullpen guys!"

Once again we go into a LOSING STREAK WITH A TEAM THAT IS BELOW .500 and expect to keep pace with the Bitches with 20-something games left. The Dildoes are in common form like they do nearly every year and this is just plain stupid for a team that says it has post-season aspirations but plays the opposite.

Was in Philly this afternoon and decided to catch the game. Got a hoagie from Philips on Passyunk then drove to the stadium and parked, bought a ticket then back to car to feast along with two beers I had in the cooler. I knew it was a bullpen game so was glad I was properly soused. The first inning told the story with Falter walking a few guys then a hit then within minutes another relief "specialist" came jogging in. I knew this would be an early exit but lasted thru the 5th when I fled back to my car with my sanity. Later, heard Phils were destroyed 11-2. What a fun day! :suds:

Technically, we're still in it for a wild card or even the division. :dhd: All we can hope for is one of those 6-game win streaks to recover our position in the standings while the Braves do their share of brain dead episodes. Does not seem possible, though. Maybe, Phils have too many good guys in the second half of their careers who simply can't bust out like they did in their glory years.
