Was in Philly this afternoon and decided to catch the game. Got a hoagie from Philips on Passyunk then drove to the stadium and parked, bought a ticket then back to car to feast along with two beers I had in the cooler. I knew it was a bullpen game so was glad I was properly soused. The first inning told the story with Falter walking a few guys then a hit then within minutes another relief "specialist" came jogging in. I knew this would be an early exit but lasted thru the 5th when I fled back to my car with my sanity. Later, heard Phils were destroyed 11-2. What a fun day! :suds:
At least the hoagie was probably good.....

Always very good. After all, the place is owned by Phil Narducci, Philly mafia enforcer who did 25 years for racketeering and the 1985 mob murder of Frankie Flowers D’Alfonso. Phil's dad, Frank "Chickie" Narducci, blew up don Phil Testa with a nail bomb then he, himself, was murdered in 1982 in front of his home as he got out of his Cadillac. Released from prison in 2012, he returned to the "life". Narducci, 57, was released from prison in 2020 after an eight-month stay for loan sharking. In his plea agreement at sentencing, he told the judge, “All my past is in my past.”

Great sandwiches. I always give'em a good tip.

Yeah, he served his time. You can't hold the past against someone who can make a good hoagie.

Good story to the Hoagie jvett. And there is only one place that makes authentic Philly Cheesesteaks and Hoagies (not subs) and that is Philadelphia. The crap out here in Phoenix that claims their sandwiches are authentic "Philly" are gag-me-with-a-spoon garbage.

That is a very poignant statement for you to make on this September 11th, 2021. I know that this time is always hard for you, considering that you were the one who was paid handsomely to look the other way and wave those Al-Qaeda assholes through "airport security" (back then it was just a basic pat-down, assuming that you weren't white of course) on the day of the attacks. You had no clue what those guys would end up doing. I'm glad to see you now- 20 years later- finally taking a big step towards forgiveness and self-acceptance.

Years ago I tried those california subs and cheesesteaks. All fake and overpriced.

So we picked up a game today. Still have to pick up one more, sweep the Braves then play even with them the rest of the season.

Don't forget- just 2.5 back in the wild card. Though leapfrogging 3 teams is definitely harder than just hoping the Braves can start losing more often.

Last night was a great game. If this team does make the playoffs, they won't even need to hold a formal vote for NL MVP... it's clearly Bryce Harper.

You're right.

If we're still around for the 50 year anniversary, I'll be sure to make the same joke and relish in all of the "Funny's" I receive.
But make sure to get in early that day. I remember back in '87 I slept late and all the good Amelia Earhart jokes were done before I even had a chance.

Congrats to the Phillies. They made it to football season without being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. That's gotta be worth something, right?

I've got both games on. Good start for both teams.

Can they ever beat up on a rookie pitcher? This is like this guy's 2nd big league start ever.

Good call. But of course you have the sound up on the Phillies game so you can hear the musings of Braindead.
Yes, and the second replacement for T-Mac for another weekend series. And of course no J-Roll (even though he was there yesterday) and no Schmitty on a Sunday home game. WTF
