I wouldn't have blamed Girardi if he walked out there, took off his hat and gave him the Gilligan treatment.

on a happier note, the Nats just erased a 4 run deficit to tie up the Braves

Wow, that's pretty incredible. I honestly think the Nationals are one of the top 2 or 3 worst teams in baseball right now after they traded away all their starters at the deadline. I think they're in for a Phillies-like rebuild

Can't have an epic comeback without giving up a bunch of runs and walking the bases loaded against the opposing starting pitcher beforehand.....

Yeah they have more holes than Ryan Howard's swing those last couple years

But somehow Josh Bell will figure out a way to haunt them every time they play

This team reminds me of the 2005 Phillies. They lose when you think they should win, then when you completely give up on them they win a few.
Unfortunately, that team finished a couple games short of the playoffs.

Spot on jvett!! If the Dildoes are serious about post season play, they need to hunker-down and get on with it otherwise they are just whistlin' Dixie and bullshitting everyone to death.

Yeah, retro. Yesterday's loss was one of those games where Lauer was on but ALL the Phillies were off. Phils beat Peralta back in May so possibly, a good omen for today.

Spot on again jvett. This team continues to have internal fractures on several levels and therefore they are nowhere near on the same page as all of the divisions leaders of whom they'll face somebody in that camp if the Dildoes win the NL East outright. That means the result will be a quick exit from the post-season playoffs.

It's fun dreaming about it but whether they take the division or wild card, they must eventually play LA/SF, teams with run differentials of 224/154 while the Phils are -12. :violin:Oh, well. it's only a game.
