Well, we won't have Nola, Wheels, Ranger, and Rodon but how about Nola, Wheels, Ranger, and Painter. I know, I'm rushing things. But this could be exciting if the kid's arm can hold up.

In 2022, Painter worked his way from Clearwater A to Reading AA, throwing 103 innings for 6-2, 1.56, giving up 18 ER, 67 hits, striking out 155, and walking 25. Quite a start for the 19-year old.

Two Phillies pitchers ranked in MLB’s Top 100 prospects

Nice! This is the kid that Dombrowski took a chance on in the hopes he could get this exception. Red Sox sat on him for years because the talent is there. Phil’s benefit.

I know it’s just spring training but it’s gonna be the tits to settle into some baseball on tv today. My balls are freezing drinking my coffee and smoking cigarettes on the deck but if baseball is on tv then spring is right around the corner. Not sure who is scheduled to pitch today. Anybody hear?

Marsh with the first hit of the spring. It would be a pleasant surprise if he turns into a hitter. Also a hit by Jake Cave, a guy who could be a good lefthanded platoon guy off the bench.

Cave had a great AB. Played that first inning fly ball too aggressively but a learning experience.

Home run Wilson. Who the hell is he?
28 year old guy from Brewers organization. He’ll be an Iron Pig. If we’re seeing him it’s because they have injuries in the OF.

Marsh 2-2. Swing looks comfortable. Would be nice to have two guys like Marsh and Stott to be dangerous at the bottom of the order.

Wilson has some power. 72 homers in 5 minor seasons. Can always use that.

It will be interesting to see the impact of the shiftless infield. More hits plus with shorter distances, 3” first to second and 4.5” home to third, because of larger bags, 18” from 15 “.

De La Cruz looks like he might some potential. 17 HR in 365 ABs in the minors last season.

Yeah, Retro, with super bowl letdown, I was getting bored. You guys okay with the new rules? I need to air my complaints.

With 15 seconds between pitches when bases are empty and 20 seconds with runners on base, I'll now have to run out to the fridge for a brew so I don't miss the action. Sucks. That will be fun to keep track of too. Ball 4! You were one second late with that strike. WTF.

With the 30-second timer between batters there won't be time for McCarthy and to discuss the life and injuries of the next batter, and personal details of their home life. Damn!

With distances between bases reduced by 4.5 inches, everybody can steal. Cheapens the game. Pitchers will be getting on and stealing more.

With the shift abolished, they'll be no more fun seeing a player bounce a ball to one side with no infielder within 60 feet.
And they'll probably raise the price of a 16 oz. can of beer at the park to $25. :pound:
