Malkin deserves a ton of credit for that goal, he busted his ass down the ice to be in the right spot at the right time and made no mistake. That was a juicy rebound from King Henrik.

So, on the Cooke non-goal. There's two rules which conflict, that are actually part of the same rule. Rule 80.1 (ii) says that a puck contacted with a stick above the crossbar may be allowed as a goal if the puck is "batted in" by the defending team. Yet rule 80.3 says that any puck deflected off a defender or official after contacting high stick is no goal. What I don't get is this: the puck is contacted by the high stick, hits off Henrik, and is then batted in by Sauer's hand...from what I've read that should be a goal.

I think it came down to intentions. The war room felt it wasn't an intentional bat from Sauer, so it's not a goal. I'd disagree in that instance, he swatted it down. *sigh* Totally different game now.
