Do you believe Magic is willing to ditch Russell for a late lottery pick?

I don't even know who those guys are.

You won't give up assets for George. But, you will for Kenard or Collins?

Lmfao.....just trade for George already!!!

Eta: I do know who Collins is. I didn't think they'd target a Center. So, it took me a minute to connect the name to a face .Maybe they are sending out a bad contract too. That's the only thing that would make this move logical.

If the Lakers plan on waiting until next FA to bring in George, then it actually does make sense. Collins projects to a stretch 4 in the NBA. The Lakers don't have one.

They will almost certainly move Russell if/when they get PG-13, so this would create the roster room for him. They can always start Clarkson at the 2 and/or bring in an FA on a 1 year deal to keep George's seat warm until they get him.

It could also be a bunch of misinformation to throw other teams off the scent while they work on a PG-13 trade. That's how they used to do things under Dr. Buss.

you're gonna have to use Clarkson, Randle and Nance and perhaps Zubic to move those 2 deals. Unless you go for Lopez this year to screw boston over. lol

Further destroying the NBA

Im sure Anthony Davis will leave New Orleans for a bigger market

Karl Anthony Towns will leave Minny for a bigger market

The Greek Freak wont be spending his career in Milwaukee

This will never end

They get them for peanuts for a while.

NO will have Davis for almost a decade before he leaves.

hard to feel sorry for them.

Same with MIL and Greek Freak.

Yeah, but who is Paul Gasol?
There is no need to be a smart ass because my spell check brutally correctly changes things every time. I don't catch all to the satisfaction of the grammar police and think you known what I meant. Come on now

I think its stupid of him to pigeon hole himself to one team, there are 4-5 winning teams that he could go to and get a ring.

Its good to have employers fight over you. Why rule out everyone but 1 team? narrow-minded.

It really doesn't matter in the NBA.

There's the team that for arbitrary reasons can pay you more, and then there's what you can get from everyone else.

Especially if you have a specific location in mind.

He wants to go home and likes the young guys the Lakers have at the moment.

Utah is the better team because of him.
Assuming we keep our core in tact that was so good the 2nd half, wouldn't the addition of Hayward then make the Heat the better team?
I understand your point.

But, wouldn't adding Hayward make Boston even better?

Unless he hates cold weather, both Utah and Boston are closer to winning and the Jazz can pay him more, even if it's only 1 million.

.....and yes.

By closer to winning, I mean getting swept by the Warriors or lose the the Cavs in 5 again.

Well, they are likely looking to have a chance to sign LeBron too, so they will need to shed a significant amount of salary to get those deals done. Trading for George will make it a lot easier to sign LeBron (or a 2nd big FA).
.....which Makes This Strange.....

Unless They Have A deal Already...

He'll make any team better.
Depends what his priorities are.
I could see him in either of the 3 cities

They don't need to dump the salaries this season. If they want to next season, the asking price should be lower (one less year to absorb) and/or the "cost" to stretch those contracts will be lower.

Sure, but he could put Boston in the finals. If you can get there, you have to make the move IMO. Anything can happen with injuries or suspensions, and Cleveland is looking pretty rickety all of a sudden.

If you grew up an Ohio State fan and they wanted you to lead their team, would you listen to other offers from other schools, even stronger ones like Alabama? (We can pretend that college students aren't paid/gifted anything if you want)

Yes, that would be a step forward.
