The New England Patriots have signed running back Montee Ball in order to cover the injury suffered by starting running back LeGarrette Blount.

The 5'10, 215 lbs Ball was a 2nd round pick in 2013 by the Denver Broncos, selected one pick before the Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson. Ball holds the NCAA record for most career touchdowns (83) as well as the most touchdowns in a single season (39).

Ball was a college teammate of Patriots running back James White where they combined for 8,196 yards and 112 touchdowns between 2010-12.

Ball ran a 4.66 40 yard dash at the combine, with a 1.62 10 yard split, and a respectable 9'10 broad jump and 6.88 three cone time. Ball upped his 40 yard dash to 4.51 seconds at his Wisconsin Pro Day.

Good luck with him. Ever since he was injured his 2nd year he hasn't had the confidence to hit any kind of hole with purpose. He likes to dance in the backfield but then doesn't have the get up and go when the hole does open up to get through it. He is probably the biggest draft blunder Elway has made so far in his time as GM.

On Wisconsin.... now you just need to pick up Joe Thomas, JJ Watt, Travis Frederick and Russell Wilson (guess he will have to be the backup QB) and I will become a Pats fan :D

A lot of Wisconsin alum OL in the league... probably reason none of the RBs ever live up to expectations in NFL (Gordon appears to be following that trend).

I thought the pats would pick up Jordan Shipley off the Cards practice squad. He nearly made the team. He seems like a good fit for the pats. Quick slot receiver with return ability.

Curious as to why nobody wanted any part of Ball this year... So many RB injuries around the league and nobody took a shot on him until now? Makes me wonder!

maybe cause they suck heres a real head shaker:suds:

Seahawks waived RB DuJuan Harris.

It's a surprise, as coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Harris would compete with Bryce Brown to start in Thomas Rawls' absence. Harris' release paves the way for Brown to get a heavy workload against the Browns' bottom-three run defense. Veteran Fred Jackson will serve in a change-of-pace role. Be sure to cancel your Harris waiver claims if you're still alive in the fantasy playoffs.

Wisconsin RB's and Bama RB's are mainly products of the O-line. NFL should've learned by now to draft OL and not RB's from UW. We have three all pro Badgers in the NFL now and 3 other starters. The reason why White has done ok with the Pats is because he was a good receiving RB that doesn't depend on the O-line for production.
